  1. Pecue was originally considering it. I think local residents shot it down.
  2. Gonzales isn't the only area of the state considering using roundabouts at the bottom of an interstate offramp/onramp. Hammond has a project pending to turn stoplights into roundabouts at I12&US51. http://www.dotd.la.gov/administration/public_info/projects/US51/documents/US51_and_I12.pdf
  3. Widening of Jones Creek between Coursey and South Harrels was a Greenlight project, the section between Coursey and Tiger Bend is a state project... Just goes to show you how well the green light program has worked.
  4. I wish we had a rouses in Ascension.
  5. Gonzales has a lot of clean up they could do. hwy 44 / burnside is a huge eye sore for 90% of the road through gonzales.
  6. I think it's another shopping center.
  7. Livingston Parish approves toll authority. This toll will connect I12 with Airline. http://www.wbrz.com/news/livingston-approves-toll-authority/ Hopefully Ascension gets involved and extends this extension to I10.
  8. The DQ on Sherwood is being worked on as is a dunkin doughnuts
  9. That pertains to the section under construction in Gonzales. I wonder what is going on in Prairieville. http://www.dotd.la.gov/administration/public_info/projects/us61/
  10. Yeah, that wallgreens screwed the chance of any kind of store occupying the old Albertsons.
  11. Yeah, much better than a call center.
  12. I found this article. http://www.nytimes.com/1989/12/26/business/company-news-refinery-fire-could-raise-heating-oil-cost.html?pagewanted=all&src=pm
  13. I think you're giving the state too much credit, They are 20-30 years behind in many areas. If they just had a little foresight, it would go a long way.
  14. Hwy 42 is impossible now. Use Google maps satellite view and you'll see why.
  15. Hopefully they get this settled soon. If it's on Perkins near Towne Center I will become a regular for breakfast.
  16. Woman's creates a significant amount of traffic, 'whether it has an emergency room or not is irrelevant. Giving people direct access to the freeway is the correct thing to do. It should have been done ASAP. Airline Hwy in this area is not equipped to handle the traffic this will create. I think this ramp needs to be created, I think Airline needs to be widened through Gonzales. Ascension parish will take care of Airline between Hwy42 in Prairieville through Gonzales, The state has no plans to widen Airline at all beyond what the parish is going to pay for with the 1/2 cent sales tax that has yet to be voted on.
  17. The Pecue ramp is critical for the new Woman's Hospital. We don't have a choice, we need that ramp. With the extension to Stumberg this will become a major artery for the southern side of the city. A new ramp needs to be added in Ascension Parish. Bluff Road would be a good choice, So would LA74.
  18. Personally, I think the area can support the growth. Ascension is more of a grid system so we hopefully can learn from the mistakes of not only BR, but St. Tammany Parish and build up infrastructure at the same pace as the growth. Already key arteries in the area have gone untouched (eg. LA-42) so it seems like we're going down the same path as the others have before us and not learned from their mistakes. One thing that I think is key is adding another major route that parallels Hwy 42, but also connects with I10 and I12. If we could get cooperation with Livingston parish to create a Road connecting the two interstates it would be a major economic boom to both areas.
  19. Same reason why warships were sent to the middle east again. We're gearing up for one of those crap counties (Iran, etc.) to start something so we can react swiftly and harshly. Just my two cents.
  20. Seeing as how busy the area is, many nights, even random weeknights commonly have hour long waits at the couple of places there are to eat in the area. I don't know that they need three steakhouses but PF Chang, Santa Fe, and Logans would do really well in this area. A good Italian joint (I'm looking at you Carino's or Caraba's) would also do really well.
  21. It's about time that area sees some movement. Hopefully they build the infrastructure up to accommodate the growth of
  22. Fugly isn't even the right word. Jez, what a waste.
  23. Again, time to get back on topic. This discussion needs to happen elsewhere.. Please create a different thread.
  24. <p> One is planned for new Orleans, no other locations are in the state.
