Well.. the first two levels before it turns commieblock are nice at least.

Was in France recently, this is the correct way to implement a tram in the street. Dedicated space no stopping in traffic. And this is one of the more economically poor cities in that country.

Well if you're trying to activate and engage pedestrians you don't have a huge set back buffered with monumental stairs leading to yet another plaza And if you do, you had better have some stellar tenants to lure people in. As for that wall I get that it's graded, I just feel they took the easy way out instead of getting creative about it, which doesn't require that much creativity tbh. Maybe it will change

Being from Charlotte but living in Boston my experiences range from of course mixing it up with Charleston, although that one is rarest, to the I fly through there, and then I'd say actually the most common is, "I have family there, IT IS SO CLEAN" , and the food is generally loved. A lot of people I've met have told me unsolicited they would like to move to North Carolina, didn't specifically mention Charlotte though. -
Awesome! Thank you both for the suggestions.. been away from Charlotte for about a decade now, looking forward to getting back!

Anyone know of a good go-to market that sells a nice selection of imported French or European food and drink items? Kind of like where an ex-pat might like to find something. I've heard of the Asian Corner Mall being international but don't know what all is inside.

Some clients will pull out completely and cancel the project if there is even a whiff of their project in the public eye before they say so. Especially when people start debating the design. -

I'm in France every year at Christmas and go to these all the time.. super popular and will be a such great thing to have! Gives people something to actually stroll through in the downtown area.

I'd be highly surprised if those were the rates. Grew up in Charlotte, but live in Fenway in Boston now and new "luxury" (regular by Charlotte standards IMO, if you've lived in Boston you know what I'm talking about) and new apartments going up are $4k+ for 1 Beds and $7k/month for two beds. Cost of living here is like 3x so yes I'd agree with the smoking crack statement trying to charge that amount. -

Yeah, I have been strongly considering escaping the the liberal hellscape thus government overreach that is Boston/Massachusetts to move back to Charlotte, but things like that ^ make me seriously wonder. I mean a gender Unicorn? Are we in an alternate reality? -

Sometimes they even go below the sidewalk of the building and basement. That's how it is where I work here in Boston. -
^ my guess is because it was too cluttered with other surrounding buildings geo located to its actual place from that angle. But who knows.

Originally from Charlotte but live in Boston now. Took my girlfriend (She's from France) to Charlotte and while she much preferred the people in the south, the food and weather, her biggest complaint about Charlotte in particular was "Where are all the stores??" There is nowhere to shop and stroll. Beating a dead horse I know, but it is suchhh a huge thing that needs to happen downtown. -
Last time I went to French Quarter they had changed to greek food mainly... still the case? (I work in Boston now) Two greek places side by side seems an interesting choice. If they keep the green awning off they should at least put an old looking sign above the door.
