  1. Lol Crabtree Mall is the epitome of lavish style and extravagance so I don't know what you're talking about
  2. I hate A{sodEmoji.|}X too and I'm proud that there isn't one in Charlotte.
  3. Is True Religion open already? It's listed on their website now.
  4. Lol they also have 564 positions open in NY city alone.
  5. Where does the rumor come from? Things can turn around quickly; the last I heard about Neiman Marcus is that it had an amazing grand opening and that they were planning a restaurant. I suppose the poor economy is the main culprit?
  6. I'm definitely not conservative and yet I seem to be the only person here that's proud that Charlotte doesn't have an A{sodEmoji.|}X
  7. The Southpark website says Michael Kors is open now. Has anybody had a chance to swing by yet?
  8. ^So I realize that may have sounded like a really negative comment and I didn't mean for it to be. I really enjoy living in Raleigh, I just would never have thought in a million years that a Neiman Marcus would even consider opening a store here.
  9. That is difficult to believe. You mean for the entire company? Every time I've ever been in there it's been, well, dead. Where did you hear that? And I know it's not likely for Saks to relocate, but don't you think it's more attainable for Crabtree to pursue that rather than getting Neiman Marcus to open up shop? I mean, they already have a store in Charlotte so a Raleigh location would only further dilute the name. Not that Raleigh isn't a nice place to live, but I think "PhD" when I hear Raleigh, not "high fashion".
  10. ^Especially not at Crabtree. It's not a bad mall (well, as far as malls go), but surely it's very far from getting a Neiman Marcus. I think a more feasible option would be to convince Saks to relocate.
  11. Neiman Marcus? At Crabtree? Am I the only one that thinks this sounds insane?
  12. If I'm not mistaken, I believe that Charlotte had a Bang & Olufsen at one point. Obviously, that is no longer the case.
  13. Do we know how long it will take to open?
  14. I think Michael Kors is a pretty big deal. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I went to the website and there wasn't even a listing for Atlanta. Is this true?
  15. This may sound silly, but I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that Hermes and Neiman Marcus are there. Those are two (quite) large names in fashion, and it may lead people to delusions of grandeur, although it seems they're really catering more to a niche audience.
  16. Haha, I agree. It basically looks like a plastic box with a light inside of it. As for the actual building itself, I have to reserve judgment until the building is actually complete (or we get some sort of a halfway decent model to see). From the look of the latest rendering, it seems the building may have an interesting, almost industrial, feel. Of course, it's hard to see with such a small picture.
  17. ...or we could hope for a miracle and they could magically decide to open one, tomorrow, in uptown.
  18. The Saks in Raleigh is off of Capitol Boulevard (aka hell), which makes no sense whatsoever. I'm sure they could have chosen a better location and gotten better results than what's happening now. Similarly, whether or not a Saks would do well in Charlotte, I think, depends on where it goes. Putting the Saks on Capitol in Raleigh would be the rough equivalent of putting a Saks on Independence. It just doesn't make sense.
  19. I suppose I was just lucky as far as traffic goes. I seem to remember everyone telling me the traffic was going to kill me when I got to Charlotte but I don't really remember it being worse than Raleigh, I just remember there being more of it (as in, more lanes but they weren't more congested). Of course, one time I visited during race week and it was understandably crowded on the interstates.
  20. Is there any chance that a Sony Style will open in Southpark? To the best of my knowledge there aren't any in the entire state.
  21. I remember the first time I visited Charlotte, I was shocked by how violent it wasn't. All my life I had heard horror stories painting Charlotte as a blood-soaked warzone. Virtually everyone I knew knew someone else who had been shot and killed there. I could definitely say I felt as safe there as I had in Raleigh, though. edit--I was shocked at how bad the traffic wasn't, also.
  22. Agreed Is it a chain or is it something unique to Charlotte?
  23. "Pastor Joe Caullie said he was 'really outraged' after shopping at Urban Outfitters. He said the edgy clothing store is a little too edgy." Rediculous. Perhaps if he's so afraid of it then he should have just stayed away (that's what I do--for different reasons). Problem solved. And too edgy for whom, might I ask? God, I despise anyone who actually makes me side with that store.
  24. Doesn't ESPN have a restaurant? Perhaps that?
  25. Haha, I didn't notice that. Well, like I said, I know you can't trust everything you'd see on a page such as this. I actually don't think of Charlotte as being particularly liberal or conservative, myself. I don't really get an impression either way when I go there. I think it would be more appropriate to say it's a neutral city rather than liberal unfriendly.
