I haven't heard much. LifeWay is leasing it until they move into their new HQ late 2017/early 2018, so it's safe to say that nothing will happen between now and then. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

From what I understand, they're definitely moving. There will be an interim where they lease back a portion of the current property while the new building (wherever that will be / I fully expect it to be somewhere in the CBD) is under construction. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

From what I've heard, I really do think that the Draper Centennial Tower and Sullivan Tower are safe. The closure of the sale should happen sometime within the next month, so I would expect alot more details to come to light in the near future.

From what I've heard, the new building will not incorporate a cross into it's architectural design. Assuming that the Draper Centennial Tower isn't demoed (and I don't think it will be), it's safe to say that Uptown will remove the crosses from the facade of it as well.

Do you have any idea of what structures will remain and which will be demolished? I wish I did, but anything I could say about 'Uptown Nashville's' plans would be pure speculation. LifeWay will continue to lease back the portion of the property bordered by 9th, Commerce, 10th, and LifeWay Plaza for at least 2 years while their new headquarters is under construction in SoBro. Beyond that parcel of land, anything's possible, as soon as this winter.

That portion of the building is 2 floors of warehouse space. Some has been converted into office space, while most is used for storage or is just empty. In the past, all of the printing and distribution happened there, but all of that operation moved to Lebanon over a decade ago. As the article mentions, the employees are in the process of consolidating into the area east of 10th Ave.

I've done that TransPacific flight in a 747 before. I took a 14 hour flight from Dallas to Seoul, Korea. It was definitely a long flight, but it was great in the 747. Hankster, where in Thailand did you go - just to Bangkok, or did you get to see any of the rest of the country. Phuket is really something to see. Some of the most beautiful beaches in the world! -
Still, NewsChannel 5 gave great free publicity for Tony's projects!

I grew up in Hendersonville, and we lived on a hill and had a great view of the entire skyline. I know of many spots in Hendersonville where downtown can clearly be seen. It was always cool being able to see the downtown fireworks from 12+ miles away! Anyways, Signature will be awesome to see from a distance.

I remember last year a commercial for some law office (I think it was Dale Buchanan) that was on TV in Chattanooga about worker's injury compensation. This particular attorney was standing with the new EPB building behind him, showing construction workers working on it. One of the lines in his commercial said something like "Chattanooga construction workers working hundreds of feet off the ground can be extremely dangerous." Hey, I'm proud of Chattanooga and its beautiful downtown, but the EPB building is nowhere near "hundreds of feet off the ground!" My wife and I got a good laugh every time that one came on TV. -

That's the building I'm talking about - It's really a cool place. Tomato Tango is on the corner - you can almost read the sign above the door with a tomato in the middle (looks more like a red dot from this angle). -

Hey Hankster! Thanks for posting these pics of Chattanooga. I'm just now going through these pages for the first time and saw this photo of the James Building. I lived on Chattanooga for five years until I recently moved back to Nashville at the end of April. These pictures bring back memories! My wife was a bank teller at the AmSouth on that corner (8th and Broad) in the Pioneer building (until they closed that branch, then they moved her out to the Gunbarrel branch...sorry I'm getting off subject) Anyways, I used to go eat lunch with her every Friday at the best little Italian place called Tomato Tango. It sits right on the corner where you took this picture. Have you ever eaten there? If not you gotta go check it out, it's one of Chattanooga's best kept secrets IMO!
