  1. I've also always admired this building. Hopefully they're able to keep the smokestack…or whatever it is.
  2. I believe that is the new Bank of America branch that's replacing the one on Hillsboro Rd.
  3. Is the entire west bank redevelopment plan about to start or just the amphitheater?
  4. Does anyone know what is happening on the lot across from Noshville on Hillsboro Cir? The former parking lot has been demolished.
  5. Here's a link to renderings of the downtown Sheraton reno. Seems to be a great improvement. http://www.sheratonnashvilledowntown.com/gallery
  6. You refer to the Nashville Nordstom as "standard" which carries several designers that you will never find at a Belk (Gucci, Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Lanvin, Alexander McQueen, Armani, Versace, J Brand…from the top of my head). I'm not trying to be argumentative, but if you think the "flagship" belk will be on par with Nordstom (Nashville) then you will be disappointed.
  7. Even the nicest Belk stores don't offer the high-end designer labels that Nordstrom and Saks carry.
  8. For those who wanted to see the UBS signage. The north facing side has a red and white lit sign, and it still has scaffolding around it. Also, the east facing side has a flush non-lit sign, and there are no signs on the other two sides.
  9. I don't understand multiple bank locations in such close proximity either, but there are also multiple Regions, Capital, and Suntrust banks within GH as well.
  10. Having the ability to turn lights green won't help much during peak hours. The BRT Lite section would throw the entire route off schedule, making it unreliable. P
  11. Construction fencing is up and the buildings have begun demolition. I'm not excited about the design, and a lot of mature trees will be lost. I don't see any being replaced along the street either. Oh well.
  12. Also, a new rendering. I'm not too excited about the pedestal. http://www.bizjournals.com/nashville/blog/2013/11/gulch-crossing-rendering-released-as.html
  13. My dream would be to put Parallon and SCRI in WES now. I think part of the appeal to WES is that it has two towers so that each company can have their own signage and separate identity. Once WES is built, then move HCA to 505 CST. Hopefully, by this time Tony should be completed with some of his projects. I'm not sure how much square footage HCA takes up at their current campus, but I'm sure they could fill most of the building. Would they need the 750ft version or would the ~600ft as planned suffice?
  14. Here is a link to a rendering. I'm not sure how to post a pic. http://www.bizjournals.com/nashville/blog/2013/06/charlotte-avenue-hostess-property-to.html
  15. I think this could be a nice addition to the riverfront plan. I've never seen rowers on the Cumberland before, but I could see it becoming more popular. http://cargocollective.com/WillRowland/COMMUNITY-BOATHOUSE
  16. I came across this today. It looks like the African American Museum and House of Blues are incorporated. Does anyone know if this is a serious project? http://dorskyyue.com/portfolio/nashville-development/
  17. I was probably being overly critical. I actually have nothing against authentic stucco, but the overall design of the building is lacking in my opinion. The Kissam dorms are looking very large and beautiful. I love the design and dominance that they command on that corner of West End. Also, the exterior rehab of the office building on West End between the Outback Steakhouse and Maggiano's is looking great. It looks much more appealing. I think some of the older office buildings around town should take notice.
  18. Here is a link to a rendering: http://westendvillageapartments.com/#prettyPhoto[pp_gal]/0/ Cheap brick and siding typical of any apartment building in Hermitage, Bellevue, etc. It actually looks even worse in person. I will try to take a pic.
  19. The West End Village apartments are looking very suburban. Building up to the street doesn't make it urban.
  20. The old Ben West Library downtown will be demolished by metro to make way for additional state surface parking. http://nashvillecitypaper.com/content/city-news/proposed-land-swap-between-metro-state-would-demolish-old-ben-west-library
  21. New academic and dining services complex broke ground today at Belmont.
  22. A picture taken today of the new Belmont building preparing for construction.
