  1. I would say you should hope it is a pipe-dream. That is not even close to being as ugly as the Louisville project, but is still ugly. I think I know where the inspiration came from. Tilt your head to the left and it looks like a lower case b, as in Baton Rouge. Sometimes art should stay just that, art.
  2. I wish that S'port had something this tall, but I would definitely forgo this structure. That thing is a total waste of money. Do they really think that anyone would want to live in or do business from this aberration?
  3. This has to be the ugliest thing I have ever seen!
  4. I also think Gary Crowton will make the LSU offense fun to watch. Look at what he did with lesser players at Tech. If he can do it with them he can have LSU scoring 40 points per game. I think the loss of Bowe, Davis and Russell will hurt, but we should have the talent to fill those gaps. Flynn was the Peach Bowl MVP, not too shabby. With Dorsey coming back the D will be awesome too. I just hate we are loosing Landry. I agree with you Nate. The Saints have made my stomach hurt in the past, but I don't have that feeling with this team. I am not waiting for them to throw it away, although they almost did Saturday with that Reggie Bush fumble. I think that we should be able to beat the Bears. I get a sick feeling when I look at the AFC competition though. I just wonder if we can handle them. Hopefully we get to see!
  5. Wow, check out all the Louisiana sports news today. Gary Crowton is the new LSU offensive coordinator, Sean Payton wins the Maxwell Award for Top NFL Coach and Saints' Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis was selected as the NFL Executive of the Year. I think that Gary Crowton will be good for LSU. Look what he did for LA Tech's offense while he was there. Everywhere he has been, whether it was Tech, BYU or Oregon, he has had one of the nation's top offenses. I personally always thought Jimbo Fisher held back LSU, I could be wrong though. Here are all the story's if anyone's interested from the S'port Times. LSU hires Gary Crowton as offensive coordinator Payton garners Maxwell Award as top NFL Coach Saints nab All-NFL honors; Loomis Named Executive of the Year
  6. Nashville by far. I just don't think Louisville holds a candle to Nashville. To me, it just doesn't have a cool factor. "The Batman building" is the cool factor, plus at night it kicks Louisville's butt!
  7. Oh ok. I looked at the site plan and it had a revision date of Aug 3, 2006, but it looks like the plan has an image date of Oct 9, 2006. Since you saw the elevations earlier this year and they have not changed, I guess the site plan is newer.
  8. LA no doubt. Dap to Singapore though, that's a pretty awesome skyline. I think you have to go there to truly appreciate it. There are so many skylines there, but the core is awesome. If you get the city on a clear day with the mountains in the background, as Stephen did, there is no contest.
  9. I can't believe they did it! WooHoo!!!!!!! Next stop Superbowl!!!!
  10. I'll email them if everyone else will. I don't mind at all! Are you sure the site plan is newer? The ePackage was dated Oct 2006. I'll check to see if the site plan was dated. I have been watching this and this is awesome news. I hope that they come, it would say a lot about Shreveport. I think the chances could be good, they left New Orleans in 2000 for Birmingham and maybe they want to come back to LA now. It probably helps that we elected a black mayor since their schools are historically black colleges. Let's hope they come. I just hope they are not just trying to use a "possible move" to get leverage with the city of Birmingham.
  11. Cool photo Stephen! I am looking at the ePackage from Stirling Prop about the Bossier development and it has a TJ Maxx Sign on the elevation section next to Target. On the site plan Old Navy is the tenant next to Target. Is Old Navy out? Old Navy is also not included in the list of tenants. Stirling Bossier ePackage On another note, I would love to see a Fuddruckers here!
  12. Here is a story that was in the Shreveport Times today about the Ryan Perrilloux investigation. Seems that it is about a counterfeit $20 that he had rejected at a convenience store in LaPlace last November. He has been interviewed by federal investigators and his high school coach seems to think that he is in the clear, lets all hope so. Here's the link. LSU QB probe centers on counterfeiting
  13. I think that the deadline is Jan 15th. BTW, what the heck is going on with Ryan Perrilloux??? Reports are that he is under federal criminal investigation. This sounds bad. You know what they say, where there is smoke, there is fire.
  14. You should totally get a DirecTV HD DVR. It has two tuners so you can pause one show and flip to the other, hence watching them both at on time! I do this very often. I absolutely love mine. I am now able to keep up with shows I like to watch, I just TIVO it and catch it when I can.
  15. Oh how it must have hurt Brian's heart! Sorry that I am taking pleasure in your pain, but it was awesome!!! Sorry to say it, but I came out of my chair cheering. Maybe next year!
  16. Well if you do, why do you cut us some freakin' slack! I hate buying gas. BTW, if you get that CEO job drop me a dollar or two when you receive your $400 million dollar bonus for making the company $40 billion in one year! Then too, I could afford that camera.
  17. Here's a story from KTBS about the proposed Toyota plant (by Blanco) in Monroe. It says that Toyota has narrowed the search down to three locations and Monroe was not named (duh). I still say that Blanco should have pitched Shreveport for this, but in an effort to get NE Louisiana votes she pitched Monroe. Everyone knows that Monroe never had a chance. First of all that area has done nothing but lose business for the last few years. Second of all when the company looks at quality of living factor, Monroe goes straight to the bottom. Shreveport would have been great for this. We have so many experienced auto workers and are one of GM's best sites. We also have a long history of bending over backwards to give tax breaks to GM. This actually makes me mad that our great governor didn't even list Shreveport as an option, she was too busy trying to get votes. Look at what Toyota is doing in San Antonio, this would have been so awesome for us. I'm not saying that Toyota would have picked Shreveport, but when it comes to Monroe or Shreveport, we would have had a significantly better chance. Toyota plant likely not coming to Louisiana While I am ranting, I don't know if you guys saw this, but at a fundraiser auction in Monroe dinner with the governor went for $1!!! Dinner with Blanco at Governor's Mansion sold for $1
  18. I remember several years ago when they turned down the Independence Bowl here in Shreveport. That was a slap in the face. That former player turned "analyst" was Tim Brown formerly of Notre Dame and the Raiders.
  19. BTW, I have a theory why Notre Dame has lost nine straight bowl games. I think that they have lost so many because they are always overrated and because of this they always get in a good bowl are out matched. They only play good teams (with the exception of USC and Michigan) at the end of the year and guess what, they lose. If Notre Dame would ever schedule some real games they would constantly see losing seasons.
  20. Awesome game. I think that JaMarcus is gone, but with him, does anyone think we could make a run at a championship next year? I do. I think that if we win either the Auburn or Florida game this year we would have been a lock for the title game. Many experts have said that LSU is the best 10-2 team ever. On another note, I think Nick Saban is a complete liar and jerk. It's LSU/Miami all over again. Multiple promises he is going to stay then he bolts. Can you believe after a month of denials he went anyway? I hope he bombs at Alabama, first of all because I hate Nick Saban now and second of all I hate Alabama!!! He'll stay at Alabama until someone offers him more money. Can you believe this jerk left Miami without addressing Miami and leaving the owner to answer all the questions? I hope it's a massacre everytime we play Alabama!
  21. Here is an article from Shreveport Times about Shreveport's GM plant possibly getting the H3T and H4. It would be awesome if GM made our plant a mega plant. How many plants actually make 5 vehicles? I'm guessing not many. I am still in love with the H3T! There is a pic of it included in the article. BTW, I would have been happy to take a $140k buyout as some employees did. GM's saving grace Another Shreveport Times story, it is about a downtown building being demolished. I don't know this building, so if anyone does, is is big and are we going to miss it? Downtown medical building to come down
  22. Unfortunately until more and more people with money start to spend it here, no one else will. The more people initally take the risk and suceed, the more investors will be willing to invest in Shreveport and Bossier. Have you ever thought about starting to shop your ideas to investors? I still long for a Costco! So, did you see the Vette???
  23. That's cool and I think you are right, we need things downtown like that to make people want to live there. People do not just want to live there with nothing to do. It's like what we were talking about on the other thread, it sucks being so far away from things. If you live downtown, you should be able to walk to coffee shops and grocery stores.
  24. Wait, wait, wait, you have one in your building!?! That is soooo awesome. Some guys do have all the luck. I just wish I had one, let alone one in my building. I also could not agree with you more that it is second to none! Wow, I'm so jealous!
  25. Looks like Ced ate Urkel, put on his glasses and grew a Jimi Hendrix afro!
