  10. Yes, I know it sounds weird but thats the way it works. Its just like the northern line from Greenville to T.R.,It is Rail Banked, and designated an [ interim rail trail,] So what this means, is in the future if someone has the money, and wants to put the line back in service as [light rail or freight ] It will just be a matter of replacing rails and crossings. The difference between the northern line and the southern line is that most of this line is still in daily use by Carolina Piedmont R.R., with its northern termination at the G.E plant off of Woodruff rd. To make my point the line could someday be used for light rail, but if Carolina Piedmont ended up with a new customer, say --in ICAR or on Industrial Drive it could also be returned to freight service.
  11. This part of this rail line that goes from 291 to just past the Millennium Campus has been placed in the U.S. Rail Bank System, as part of this system the entire length of the line must be connected to a main line R.R. So if the bridge is not rebuilt the portion from Woodruff rd.to 291, could revert to previous owners and be sold off and destroyed. BTW Greenville county owns the section, from Woodruff rd. to I85.

  19. Well you guys that want the trees cut down on 85, may get your wish. Manhattan construction, will star taking bids for the landscaping of Neighborhood 1 on Feb. 28th. Looking at the drawing it looks like there will be a landscaped gap in the trees, between the Timken building and the Graduate Center. Also in this gap will be two man made ponds with a fountain and a stream with water falls between the ponds.
