  1. Most of the stores that have closed their doors, were closing too early. How can a retail store close at 6:00 on a weekday when people work till 5-6:00. The restaurants do good downtown because the lunch picks them up with people that work downtown. Very few people that work downtown are not going to venti during their lunch break. But the people that go downtown on a weekday that go out for dinner and then walk around, they have no where to go because all the retail is closed for the night. Even Mast closes at 6:00. They are busy enough to keep thriving but the smaller stores can not afford to do that.
  2. I have only met one of you from this web site at my cart. I wish more of you that stopped there would introduce yourselves. As far as the sticker goes the city was giving them out last year. They stopped giving them out but I could get some more. Give me a few weeks and I will get some for whoever wants. But only on one condition. You have to stop by the cart while I'am there and Introduce yourself to pick up the sticker. Thanks RT for the comments about the dogs. Oh and Cricket, my dogs are better than the Hot Dog Kings. I was going to put a sign on my cart that read ' Even a King can be Overthrone ' But I didnt want to start any trouble.
  3. It is still too early for me to have a guy. I think the primary's will not go my way. Unfortunetly I think the majority of America is too ignorant to vote Obama and I think he will do the best job for this country in its current condition.
  4. Im not sure really why or what it is but these Ron Paul Revolution signs annoy the crap out of me.
  5. I had heard that Sprouts was not going to re-open downtown anywhere. They will be sticking with there Woodruff Rd location and the New location on 14. It seems to be timed too perfect for the one downtown to close and the Hwy 14 location opening at the same time.
  6. The Voting for Best of the Upstate starts for Restaurants today. Thats where you can vote for your favorite Hot Dog and stuff.
  7. I like Hershey's on Woodruff. Good price and I think they have better Ice Cream than brewsters and Baskin Robins.
  8. Sorry, that is not allowed here. -Spartan
  9. This was sunrise this morning in my backyard. My neighbors flag was flying in his back yard and with this sunrise it looked really cool with it blowing.
  10. Every City has Alley Ways and I thought this one looked cool the other day. Behind the Scenes of Greenville
  11. They will be opening up on Wednesday. A few of the guys from there ate at my cart today. As far as Downtown retail. The winter is really affecting buisness. The problem is, people arent coming out to support any buisness's in the colder weather. It was like a ghost town out there today. It wasnt that cold. Life goes on people. Get over it. Its a little cold. So.... wear an extra shirt and heavy coat. Its funny, i see the people on the street that look like they are freezin. Its the idiots with no jacket and a thin shirt on. I dont know how some of these buisness's are staying open . Its dead down there. People have to suck it up and get over the cold weather. I think this is 80% of the problem. People werent closing there doors in the spring and summer. They have high rents and cant swing it in the winter. Thank God I dont have rent. I dont know how I would do it. Granted , I have a different operation, but I see the foot traffic on the street. Theres no one coming downtown walking around.
  12. I dont think it would be a good thing along Main St. but anything lurking around it would be perfect.
  13. I'm at the point now whenever I see someone taking a picture downtown, I think its someone from Urban Planet.
  14. There was a sign that said "For Lease" In the window of the Sunshine of Greenville. So I Called and the guy is looking to sub lease it out because there is still 28 months on the lease. Well, needless to say They are asking $3850 for that store and that includes utilities. !600sq ft and a basement for storage. You have to be a busy operation to be able to afford that type of rent. No small buisness owner will survive with rents like that unless they are a bar or rest. If this trend continues you will see more and more franchised buisnesses downtown. Why own a woman's clothing store in downtown and pay $3850 a month when you can go on the outskirts and pay $1300. Take another $1000 a month to advertise and your ahead of the game and your name is being advertised all over.
  15. Hey, Where did my lake go? You must have been standing in the same spot as mine. Nice picture.
