  1. I don't remember if this has been on the site before, but they claim it will be done by August: http://www.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/ar...D=2007705160393
  2. Can you elaborate? What's the issue here? I'd love to have more flights, but will writing the Airport Board change that? (note- don't take that as confrontational, I just meant it in a questioning way)
  3. I don't understand how this is different that what was established before, can someone explain it? From what I understood, Hotel Palomar was already a 'done deal,' so to speak; was that a false assumption?
  4. I believe this is the link you're looking for: http://www.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/ar.../608300382/1352 It's definitely interesting living here in the Wilco, and yes, there is A LOT of conspicuous consumption.
  5. Do we know if they'll shut down the sidewalk along Church and/or 5th? It has driven me crazy for quite a while that Suntrust Plaza shut down the sidewalk and I have to walk in the street....it just seems so bush league. It's good to see some action at this site, I'm still concerned, but movement will be a good signal to all.
  6. Yeah, didn't see that coming....I would have put the Rutherford, Wilco line, Hendersonville line, and even the Bellevue line above that one in probability of happening, but I guess it's just a councilmember. Why would a Metro councilperson push for them to build it to AC? It seems they would be more interested in them building to a more popular place in Davidson Cty.
  7. Wow, there are so many small, lesser-known projects in West End Park/ Vandy area it might be hard to get a definite count. Thanks for the photo tour, I appreciate that you're keeping us up to date.
  8. Yeah, it's not the prettiest building, but it was the first residential built in DT Nashville for quite a while when it was built, and I assume they didn't know if it would succeed. PS. 250th post!!!
  9. I dunno, I know the Tennessee Baptist Convention is, but I didn't know if the SBC/TBC had the same HQ, or if the SBC is DT in the Lifeway building.
  10. Is the Lifeway HQ the same as the HQ for the Southern Baptist Conference, because I know that they're HQ'd here, but I didn't know where, so I just assumed there.
  11. Y'all, he's either referring to Atlanta's airport (likely), or he's kidding and making fun of Nashville's....he doesn't mean we'll be to 120mm by 2020. PS I saw a letter to the editor last week from somebody complaining that we're putting in local restaurants in the airport instead of national chains. His reasoning was that if we want to be like a big city, we need big-city chains....right, great plan there.
  12. Well, in addition to all that there are dozens upon dozens of smaller infill projects with between 20-100 units, but Nashville isn't that small....the Metro area is well over a million, closer to 1.4 if I remember correctly
  13. Wow, I had never see those renderings, but that thing was UGLY! It looks like a double-wide Cumberland....and that's not a good thing in my book. The current design is MUCH better IMO
  14. Great photos. Does anyone think that we should just have a stickied (or whateer it's called) thread at the top of Nashville pictures were things like this and things like Tours of West End/Vandy and past photo threads can go?
  15. I read this and thought it was a neat promotion...rewarding their riders with coffee. Music City Star to give away coffee to riders Some interesting tidbits from the article to me were: rider numbers, numbers for the Titans games, and they said a sense of community is developing, which I think is really neat. I didn't know that there was a stand selling coffee and hot chocolate to people....that's really neat, kinda like a big city. Glad to see that ridership is up, too
  16. Lexy, it looks like you were in the airport, do you know what they're doing right now in terms of construction?
  17. I don't think that most people in Nashville know about the Siggie, WE DO, but I think it's had little coverage in local media IMO. I counted and he has around 23 million worth of homes yet to sell....pretty daunting, but I'm glad reservations are still coming in.
  18. Haha, I love 2525...it's one of my favorite parts of Nashville, the only way I would like it more was if it didn't have the parking lot in front of it seperating it from the street front.
  19. I found the website for The Artesia: http://www.artesianashville.com/index.php I was reading, and yes, that is a rooftop terrace; not a chia-pet roof or the like. It's a shame that with all the residential development going in West End/ Centennial Park that the City didn't require at least some of them to have street level retail like they do closer into DT.
  20. I'm so glad that it was successful! That is really great, and I hope they get trains going for some Preds games. I really get a kick out of reading the comments on the stories about the train on the Tennessean's website. Some of those folks REALLY hate the train for some reason. I don't really understand why it seems like a lot of people have like, a personal grudge against the train, and mass transit in general.
  21. Wow, I took a little trip down memory lane and went to the start of this thread when 65 stories seemed like a crazy rumor, and then we saw the rendering we've all come to know and love (for the most part at least), and then I came back and looked at the new rendering, and I think we probably have a better overall product although the crown may look a little different. If you look back at the original renderings the street level was very blah, IMO, and it seems like this one at street level is better thought out. I personally don't love the new crown, however I'm sure it's a cost-saving measure, and if I had to choose between the slightly-changed crown getting built, and the other perfect crown not being built, I would choose the new one (I know, that this minor change wouldn't make a difference overall in the chances of getting built). I really like the changes from floors 1-13, and I think it makes it more art-deco (which I love by the way), and the other floors I see very little changes. Have you all noticed how different this building looks with different colors of light hitting it? On the Siggie sight, the picture looking up from the Symphony makes it look almost purple, and in others it looks blue-ish/silver. I'm sure there's reasoning behind these ground level/crown changes (Gaushel?), and I hope to watch this project continue, although as we all need to acknowladge it does have a good chance of failing (please don't let that comment make me one of the 'nay-sayers').
  22. Good Lord, this one just got started, we need to see how successful this one is before we even consider looking at building more, in my opinion!
  23. Night rides are happening! http://www.bizjournals.com/nashville/stori...tml?jst=b_ln_hl
  24. If the Viridian has a grocery store, did Siggie really need one anyway?
