Excursion Railroads in SC

Funny thing is that I was think about this very same subject earlier today. I don't know of any still existing in the Upstate, though I would be absolutely thrilled to see at least one return for everyday use. It would likely become an attraction itself, while serving a significant purpose as well.

Years ago too in Rock Hill, likely in the late 70's I was on an excursion train test run, not sure where it was headed - but it couldn't even go 1 foot. That was the end of that, my guess considering it was near the Evening Herald office it was headed either southeast to the river or northeast to York.

An excursion train from Spartanburg to Asheville would sound fun - going up the grade through Howards Gap & going through all the quaint towns on the way.
