This is just beautiful --- the white apartment building like an apparition behind the black silhouettes of the trees. Very atmospheric --- almost monochromatic, but in realities lovely muted color hues --- and the ingenious placement of the bike brings light into the blackness of the foreground. A very lovely photo, that could be a painting.

Yes, I placed the bike purposely there for that shot and to stretch my legs as well as a moment to catch my breath. Biking up Hayes Street Hill is the most brutal upgrade when biking all the way out to Ocean Beach from the middle of the City; on the other hand the Panhandle and Golden Gate Park, a short distance away, soothes the effort after Hayes Street and is a lot more fun with all the curves and downward slopes that makes me feel I am being "written in the wind"...
