A deal has been reached, and the Pens will be staying here! I can't tell you how relieved I am. I know sports teams move all the time, but I do think it tends to look bad for whatever city loses out. I'm glad we won't have to deal with that. And of course I am very happy that we're keeping our Penguins!

Admittedly, I was pretty confident throughout this whole ordeal - I know how those kind of bargining/negotiating sessions can go. Onorato moves further forward in his political career; Ravenstahl might now win an election...

Penguins fans can finally breathe easy.

Kansas City can woo the Predators...and go to hell

Even though I don't live in the 'burgh anymore, I'm VERY glad the Pens and the government were able to hammer out a deal that will keep them there for another 30 years!

Let the NHL expand organically. Don't cannibalize the sport anymore than it already has. (Read: Hartford, Calgary, Winnipeg and Minnesota)

And a super thanks to Super Mario for hanging in there! I know the fans will support you all the way until we are hoisting Lord Stanley's Cup again!!!

LET'S GO PENS!!!

Even though I'd like to see a reincarnation of the Whalers, nice to see Pittsburgh keeps its team. If anything, hockey needs to remain in strong, loyal markets up in the north. There are far less deserving places in the country which have NHL franchises, and Kansas City and Las Vegas are among those places.

I don't believe Hartford was ever mentioned as a relocation possibility in this entire process.... at least not since that businessman from Hartford dropped his bid to buy the team way back when. But certainly not in the post-casino announcement.
