Ponce is a great city, too bad its people are like argentinians, they are so arrogant...

Lots of fastfood stores are expanding to every downtown in Puerto Rico. And SUbway is the one expanding the most into downtowns...like 3 weeks ago a Subway was inaugurated in downtown Mayaguez and theres gonna be a Quiznos pretty close to it soon.

^Man thats crazy and kind of sad in a way that these chain stores are invading every possible space that can get into cause they got dollars! But i guess if the people don't object i guess its alright, its usually outside visitors that complain cause they'd rather eat/see something authentic than something they can get/see at home.

Great pics of Ponce, beautiful city.Highway 10(its a highway not a freeway) is gonna be completed in 2012 the earliest, you know the Department of Transportation is so slow,it took them like 6+ years to make Freeway 66(which is very short) and they've taken so much time to convert the #2 into a freeway(from Ponce to Mayaguez and the Sabana Grande,Guanica,Yauco,Pe

I hav pics of other cities and towns like Aguada, Arecibo, Aguadilla, Rincon, etc I will post them soon. PR's smallest town is Dewey located in the island of Culebra (pop +1500) but most of the towns here are over 25,000 in population.

About the Cruceta del Vigia (Watcher's Cross) no is not a church. Its an observation tower. The structure is over 100 ft tall and is relatively new because when PR was a Spanish colony (a few hundred years ago) in that same spot was located an observation post used by the city to watched all coming ships. In that time Ponce had commerce with 6 countries (Spain, US, England, Holland, France and Portugal) When a ship of one of those countries came to Ponce's Bay the "watcher" would raise the flag of the merchant ship otherwise he would raise another flag indicating the citizens if the ship was friendly or not. In the pic you can see a wooden cross with three flags (thanks to the wind because it should had six). Thats a replica of the cross used in that time. The real one was heavily damaged by Hurricane Georges in 1998, but you can still see it inside the observation tower.
