Here's one of my favorite cities I've ever visited. In case it's not obvious, it's in Europe, not the US. And the castle on the hill is also the cities namesake.

No fair, every small Virginia city looks almost identical! Two story brick rows circa 1920. They all smell like gas leaks and old french fries.

Oh that is NOT true, it is Staunton. It is unique based on the following factors:

In the first two pics, you can see the clocktower building, Augusta County Courthouse steeple, and St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church's steeple, as well as Mary Baldwin College to the right. In the last picture, you can see the old White Star Mills Building, the New Street Parking Garage (the row of buildings on the left), and the RR Smith Center designed by Francis Collins (on the right).

I do believe that's Edinburgh and Edinburgh Castle. It's been over 20 years since I was there, but it looks familiar.

On the waterfront down by the museum with Chihuly's glass works. There's a great store called Urban Dogs (in the retail / condo building on the right of the photo) where I always buy my dog treats.
