Where is the best coastal city in the South?

Where in the South is the best coastal city located, based on coastal living, entertainment, and adaption to the environment being that its on the coast?

Once again, my vote goes to Charleston

My personal favorite is Wilmington, even though I'm not sure it would qualify as "coastal".

I've mentioned it in other forums-- I think people in Wilmington are the nicest people I've ever met anywhere!

The history and the architecture are intoxicating, the downtown area is real nice, and excluding the hurricanes, the weather is pleasant:)

I don't know about "best," but my favorite would be Charleston.

Galveston, Charleston, or Savannah. Just because of the history and architecture.

i'd have to go with savannah just as default to my ignorance of the other cities. i love the atmosphere there. i'm sure the other cities are all excellent in their own way (especially new orleans).

What's your curiousity?

My curiousity is, that i've seen some tourists around here lately, and they say some come to the South because of their good coastal cities.Then they were mentioning something about how they like this one better, and i thought, let's see which coastal city is it by taking it to UP and let the people talk.
