OK, found my own answer, it is the Benchmark site.

Looks like Ziegler-Cooper beat out some heavyweights to land this project. They were selected over RTKL, PageSoutherlandPage, and Pei Cobb Freed and Partners (PCF).

Some of the building stats:

- 48 stories

- total area = 590,813 gsf

- 226 condo units

- total residential area = 368,000 gsf

Article in todays Statesman about the race for Austins tallest.

The tentative name for the Benchmark project is 200 Congress. The article lists 250 units and 30,000 sf of retail space. It could reach up to 700 feet tall.

The Stacy project will have 180 condos, office and retail space, and a private club, plus it could also contain a hotel. The planned height is 47-stories and will reach 675-700 feet tall.

Tom Stacy Hired a Cesar Pelli firm to design the tower. I don't think that his building is out of the bid for being the tallest. Also ZCA took off the rendering, aparently it was premature and a representative stated that it was not the final design of the building. They did that just after Tom Stacy announced that they hired Cesar Pelli. We may see 50+ story buildings when the dust finally clears. :yahoo:

The Austonian broke ground on Friday at Second St. and Congress Ave. Plans for the building now call for to be 56-stories/683 feet tall with 188 condo units. The builing will also feature 17,000 sf of ground level retail space and there is some speculation that it could be occupied by an urban grocery market. The Austonian is slated to be complete in early 2010.
