Not sure, since at this point, the DRI is just their conceptual (bubble plan). Since what St. Joe is showing is retail on both sides of Cap Circle, we'll see what design they'll come up with. I do agree about the Whole Foods/Trader Joes/Fresh Market, though. The demographics of Southwood/Southside would work for that type of store. My other question is does Tallahassee need 4 or 5 stadium theaters? Since Tallahassee Mall and Governors Square already exist, plus both FAllschase and the Pinnacle at Cross Creek (De Voe Moore project) both have theaters as a component, my question is if this is needed.

I've heard that before that Whole Foods has been in town looking. I'm a big shopper of both Fresh Market and a New Leaf member. I think there would be room for all 3 in town especially if WF located say out by Southwood. I think I'd still go to the other 2 if WF came to town, but it would probably put the biggest dent in my Fresh Market shopping. I love WF's salad and hot bars for a quick meal at home. Often times when I'm staying in a hotel, I'll hit up the local WF's for dinner at those bars. I do think our possibility of getting a WF is increasing since they are moving into the Jax market.

TJ, Jersey folks don't claim Newark or Camden b/c both cities are very poor, have terrible schools and are extremely urban in density. This is very different from the majority Jersey where it's mainly suburban housing/cities, good schools and the majority of the folks are middle class and above which you almost have to be to live there and pay their taxes. Jersey is the most urban state in America and you can see just about any type of development there from urban ghetto to urban renewal to streetcar burbs to post WWII burbs to modern 20th century burbs all w/in a 10 mile drive. Plus Gotham is just looming in the distance and only a quick train ride away. I'm a mass transit junkie here. Not to mention the authentic Italian food. Yum.

Just speculation at this point but a good friend in the commercial real estate business told me this afternoon that Home Depot's corporate real estate division reps from Atlanta have been making inquiries recently about tracts of land available along or near Capital Circle SE/SW. At first I thought no way but then he reminded me that you always seem to see Home Depot & Lowe's situated close to each other. Since Lowe's has already announced their new store to be built on Capital Circle SE next to the new Super Target maybe this is more than just rumor. :dontknow:
