WOW!!!

I love the architecture, the concept... everything!!! THAT ROCKS!!! They should build one of those in Nashville!! I think THAT would help people heal from the Opryland closing!! minus the casinos of course (don't think those are ok in Nashville, are they?)

REALLY AWESOME!!!

These are the people who built the West Edmonton Mall, so my guess is that they would not be trying this if they hadn't done their homework beforehand. The plans are encouraging, but I would like to see something beyond the conceptual teasers they've put on their website.

Yep. I actually posted about this a while back.

I remember a few years back when an amusement park shaped like America was proposed in N. Mississippi. Every state was going to be repersented by a diffrent ride. There was an interview with the people at Libertyland and they said they weren't afraid it of losing visitors because Libertyland would be cheaper than that amusement park. Too bad they did without any other amusement parks in the area :(

If Libertyland is saved, I think it would still be more popular with locals over the Myriad which would attract mostly tourists purely because of the cost. Maybe they can build an amusement park over there so they can have both a water and amusement park.

This seems like somebody dropped some micro-dot and wrote down everything they dreamed about. I found it odd that "minimizing installation costs" of the botanical gardens was even brought up. This thing could dwarf the GNP of several countries.

Sounds like an interesting proposal, but eerily like the Destiny USA mega-project in Syracuse, NY. Indoor skiing, golf, waterfalls, 5 million square feet of retail/mall space, thousands of hotel rooms. It's been six years, and those poor folks still have a forum dedicated to this thing that is mired in crooked politicians, even more suspicious developers and some people who actually believe Syracuse would become a tourist destination. We won't even mention the 300' tall statue of Hiawatha. No dirt has turned after all these years, but the Destiny website gets slicker and slicker.

When websites deal in nothing but superlatives and as tom pointed out, nothing but conceptual teasers, this becomes a wait and see.

Tunica has been a roaring success and granted the weather's better than Syracuse, so who knows, they may pull this off. Keep us posted.

I think that themepark was called Johnson Country. Acreage was going to dwarf Disney World. Oh well . . .
