  1. This needs to happen! I love that building.
  2. I live in Blackman as well (Stonecrest/Puckett Crossing) and I find the traffic at Medical Center and I-24 highly annoying most of the time. Outside of that, this isn't a bad place to live and yes, I identify with Nashville. Nobody knows what Murfreesboro is outside of Tennessee.
  3. I think we'll see the likes of Icelandair or Condor sooner rather than later. I know Delta is paying close attention to what's happening.
  4. The flight has average a mid-90's load factor and has been their best launch on a mid-size route.
  5. When will they reveal who the city is? That's all I care about. I doubt we get it, but one can never tell. Everyone seems to "love" Boston and according to some Indy folks I know, there's nothing that city can do wrong.
  6. That's really interesting. That's a jumping location so a hotel would be perfect there honestly.
  7. I don't disagree with you at all. Louisville has been quite content to leave it status quo while neighboring airports have made improvements and expanded service. I think they're trying to keep the "leakage" to a minimum there more than anything.
  8. Our neighbors to the north are sick of everyone else getting flights to Mexico and England. Looks like they want to jump in the pool now. All joking aside, it's an interesting read. Might I add, if Air Canada wanted to serve Louisville, they could do it without FIS as it's Pre-Clear. https://insiderlouisville.com/government/transportation/dan-mann-wants-to-put-the-international-in-louisville-international-airport/
  9. It's the "baseball diamond" where all of the storm water runoff goes. It's being filled in so the terminal expansion can happen and give us more ramp space for RON aircraft and de-icing.
  10. I look for that to go year round soon. It’s up to 5 days a week now.
  11. I can respect that. Architecturally, it's nothing special. I haven't been inside yet so I can't comment on that.
  12. It actually has two gates now. As for Spirit, it's a complete mystery why they haven't started service to BNA. I'm shocked honestly. They serve far lesser markets, but can't seem to figure out BNA. We'll see.
  13. Probably no new international flights until the new IAB is complete. The gate usage is just too high right now. Yes, new service on Minneapolis based Sun Country Airlines. BNA-MIA/RSW/MSP/MSY/TPA/MCO, all 2x/wk
  14. I don' t think so. LAX is maxed out and AA is up gauging the flight to an A321 some this fall. UA hasn't fully committed to a LAX buildup and frankly, they shouldn't. UA doesn't need to fight either one. The Motley Fool recently ran an article asking if UA had surpassed AA as the #2 domestic airline and it would seem they have. UA just needs to focus on their catering issues and connecting some of the dots in their network. Let DL be #1 for a while, but put AA out of the picture. That seems to be happening.
  15. I'd like to start a new thread where we can share information regarding the airport. The other thread is kind of cluttered and hard to navigate. This should hopefully clear things up a bit. Recently got wind that the British Airways flight is doing exceptionally well, but is falling victim to equipment and crew shortages being faced by BA going into the winter months. Also, travel to Europe slows during this time. This has led BA to reduce the dailies to 4 a week instead of the current 5. Officials firmly believe it will go daily once the engine issues are worked out on the 787's and the crew issues are resolved. Currently reports are that the flight averages a 95% load factor and is a high performer on cargo (which is what really makes money). A new airline is coming to the airport with the announcement being posted on a Facebook live video tomorrow at 10AM. Speculation believes it could be a non stop to Iceland or Spirit Airlines is finally entering the market with flights to DTW, DFW, and perhaps another airport. MNAA is hush on it, but the stage for the announcement has been set in front of the United Airlines ticket counter. Delta remains the #2 airline at the airport with Southwest firmly in control. American Airlines' passenger shares continue to decline little by little. United is seeing an uptick!
  16. I can't wait till Gino's East is open. Chicago pizza is life.
  17. Not everything makes it onto the news at 10. Trust me. So much happens on Broadway that only gets shared on social media that it would make your head spin. My sources are the people that work that street every night and their cameras. Broadway has turned into a white trash destination with a decent helping of soon-to-be brides thrown in acting fools. It's really embarrassing.
  18. I wish I could look at everything happening here with rainbows and Nashville tinted sunglasses, but I can't. When naked men stand, drunk, outside of a bar on Broadway and women piss into the sewers, I think it's time to ask "at what expense?". Take the homer glasses off and look at what's really happening downtown.
  19. So we should just let it loose it's identity because Luke Bryan wants to pander his name around it more like Jason Aldean and Blake Shelton? Come on! It's a joke. I encourage you to become a member of the facebook group: "a funny thing happened on broadway". One week and you'll be embarrassed to call yourself a Nashvillian.
  20. Broadway isn't genuine anymore. It's not rough around the edges. It's nice to have investment, but at what expense?
  21. So, now that we have zero options for transit on the table my attention turns to the horribly antiquated interstates in and around Nashville and the lousy interchanges. What can we do to push our state leaders to fix this mess? The majority of our traffic issues revolve around interchanges that are currently at or above capacity. The whole 24/40 spilt is a giant cluster. TDOT seems perfectly happy with keeping it status quo. We've heard NOTHING from them on fixing anything. Just patch paving and pothole work. As for future transit, I'm not a firm believer anything will ever happen. We will continue to rely on cars in this metro. This speak of monorail and stuff is fun, but unrealistic. Monorail is EXPENSIVE and well, voters in Nashville have shown they don't want to spend a lot of money on transit and neighboring counties (and CSX) have shown no desire to change either.
