Yeah, I think you read that wrong. The clean-up work is just finishing. Trust me, if an entire renovation had started and finished, you would have known.

You've been downtown in the past few years, haven't you?

They've got a lot of cleanup work left to do. On many of the upper floors they have just torn down the walls and pushed them into a gigantic pile of debris in the center of the floor.

Yeah. Wasn't it quite a few months that even the clean-up had halted? This is far from a completed project, even if the deal does go through.

Lmichigan, I've never been to downtown Detroit in my life. Probably because I'm 17 and I don't have my license yet. I have always been really interested and kept up with what's happening in Detroit but have never been able to go there. When I get my license I plan on going to Detroit often.

Wow! So it is true that there are people that have grown up their whole life in the metro and have never been downtown.

Yeah, that's true. I want to go REALLY bad though. When I do get my license I will be going there a lot to take pictures and urban explore.

I would have no idea where to go to get on the bus. That would be AWESOME though if I could. Not only that but my parents don't like the idea too much of me going to Detroit.

Nope, not even for sporting events. I am really into the Detroit teams but I have only been to Pistons games.

No, even if it was in Detroit we would still go. My dad and I have been wanting to get out to Comerica Park but haven't had time, maybe next season though.

Gotta catch a game at CoPa. Hopefully the team will be better with Leyland at the helm, but nothing beats the skyline view.

I was just wondering this evening in the parking lot of the Southfield/Evergreen Kroger how people can stand to look out of the windows of their homes or townhouses in the suburbs and see parking lots. In the city even though there are far too many parking lots for my taste, at least the retail is down the street, and around the corner. It's not running thoughtlessly right up to your front door.

Waking up and looking out of your window first thing in the morning and seeing a long succession of diagonal yellow lines on an asphalt surface...? Priceless.

I would love to live downtown too. I'm definately checking into it after college. Ann Arbor has been a place I have always wanted to live but if not there then I'll try for Detroit.

Yeah, you pretty much hit the nail on the head there. The suburbs, with few exceptions, just downright suck. I need to find a job so that I can afford to move downtown in May.

It costs a lot to live downtown? I heard it wouldn't be all that pricey because demand for it isn't that high.
