Vanderbilt and the SEC

Recommended Posts

What did you mean by this, perhaps I misunderstood @MLBrumby:

Originally, I thought you meant leave and pay the conference the one-time exit fees associated withdrawal...but is somone saying Vanderbilt would be asked to leave and paid for leaving the conference?   Has that ever happened?  I wouldn't think the SEC would not consciously pay throw away revenue...especially at those amounts...huge revenue loss for no considerable reason with conference members with the final say so taking the hit in their pocketbooks.

I’m not a Vandy fan by any means but I would totally be against them leaving, even though my team is in the west and Vandy is basically an automatic W for the football teams in the east. They’re an original SEC member and are very competitive in many sports, plus I think it’s fitting that Nashville stay an SEC city. TBH it’s a shame that Georgia Tech and Tulane left the conference in the 60s because Atlanta and New Orleans should be SEC cities too.
