It really does. Considering the location, that's a prominent corner so near the capitol meaning it should have been a site reserved for a high-rise. That said, it's a very nicely designed building, and, it's actually around the same size as the group of buildings there prior.

Again, considering what was there before, it's around the same size, if not even a little bigger. Something taller at this corner would have definitely been an improvement, but it isn't like they replaced a demolished high-rise with a two-story building. The set of buildings fronting the street there, before, were only two stories.

Just a quick rundown of some things going on in Lansing, but not yet updated here:

New state police building OK'd

The new State Police HQ is moving forward and is slated to begin construction in 3 months.

Lansing voters also approved the sale of the South Grand Parking ramp, which will allow for the construction of a 12-20 floor condo tower. The developers said they would like to begin foundation work by the end of this year.

Richard Karp's RiverNorth condo projects in Old Town is also quitely moving forward, in the last City Council agenda there was an item regarding raising the land to bring it out of the 100 year floodplain.

LCC's University Center is nearly complete on the exterior and was origionally scheduled to be done in October. It is looking pretty nice, there are some copper accents on the facade.

There may be another bar/resturaunt moving onto Michigan Ave, there was a liquor license applied for at 414 E Michigan, next to Nuthouse. If approved that place would really help tie together the 300-600 blocks, especially when Stadium District is occupied, adding another one or two bar/resturaunts.
