Thanks for creating this, I have not posted anything for a long time.  I lived in Charlotte about 32 years, mostly in Commonwealth Park.  Moved to Gastonia about seven years ago and it has been great.

Went over the river to Gaston County today and saw lots.  Walked the Goat Island greenway in Cramerton and that is a nice park and greenway.  (will put that in the greenway thread) then over to downto

Next big downtown Gastonia development in the FUSE district.

""An entity affiliated with Highline Partners recently acquired a 6-acre site at 615 W. Franklin Blvd. in Gastonia for just over $2 million, according to Gaston County real estate records. Highline's Mark Miller confirmed to the Charlotte Business Journal that the developer had acquired the FUSE District site for development of a mixed-use project called Franklin Yards. Miller said Highline is planning to begin construction in the late first quarter or early second quarter of 2024, and added it will take two years to complete.

The plans for Franklin Yards have called for over 250 market-rate apartments and 5,300 square feet of commercial space fronting Franklin Boulevard, according to city documents from earlier this year. Miller has said previously the estimated investment for the project is "north of" $50 million.""

Here is a new medical office building that has popped up on NC 273 across from the new Caromont Belmont Hospital.   62,000 sq ft 3 stories and is preleased to Carolina Orthopedic.  And more single story medical office buildings are being built right along I-85 with high visibility.

Big Loray Mill news and sounds like the entire mill will be completely renovated with this proposal.   and this is great news for Gastonia and if you have ever seen this mill it is HUGE.   Second phase to be completed by 2025.

""The second phase of a landmark development project in Gastonia appears to be at an advanced stage of planning.

City documents show that TriBridge Residential, which acquired the Loray Mill property last year, is proposing a second phase for the project with a minimum investment of $46 million. An economic development agreement for the project is on the agenda for the city's intergovernmental relations and economic development committee meeting tonight, documents show.

The project proposal calls for 196 new residential units at the mill redevelopment. That includes apartments at the mill building and 24 new-construction townhomes/cottages along South Vance Street, committee documents state. Creative office space is part of the proposal, too, as is the upfit of a portion of the property for a new leasing office and clubhouse.

Atlanta-based TriBridge acquired the Loray Mill property for nearly $45 million last year. The property included 189 apartments and 75,000 square feet of commercial space at the time of the deal. Documents show that discussions between TriBridge and the city about a second phase there began shortly after the property was acquired.

The first apartments there were completed in 2015 by a group led by Joe Lenihan and others. The mill building was first built in the early 1900s. Its redevelopment has been a catalyst for Gastonia's FUSE District, which is centered on CaroMont Health Park and has drawn several other private investment projects.""

Meritage Homes secures rezoning approval for more than 500 homes in Gastonia

Walton Global Holdings bought hundreds of acres in 2021 off Union New Hope Road in Gaston County. Its plans for residential development there appear to be coming to fruition.

Meritage Homes Corp. (NYSE: MTH) has won the support of Gastonia City Council to build over 500 homes there.

Meritage, which is among the most active homebuilders in the Charlotte region, has annexed and rezoned a 219-acre site at 637 Union New Hope Road. City Council unanimously approved those requests by the builder at its meeting last night...............................
