The state has completely closed the most popular state parks (Crowders Mountain, Hanging Rock, Raven Rock, Lake Waccamaw ) until further notice due to crowds this weekend. This will likely cause the other parks to become more crowded and result in additional closures. All state parks have already shut down camping, visitor centers, restrooms, et... all that is open at the remaining parks are trails and parking lots.

I went to South Mountain this weekend and there were definitely a few folks ruining the social distancing for everybody else by not giving space. The rangers were visibly upset as they watched people congregate in certain areas like the waterfall (much higher percentage of inexperienced hikers than normal). I had a couple ask if we could take a photo of them with their phone as we tried to pass with a wide birth... I kindly declined due to the virus but they gave a "wtf look" and asked another hiker who also declined.

Luckily at South the back trails were virtually empty. Once we got away from the main area we passed just 4 other people over 3 hours on the more remote trails (avoid waterfalls at all cost right now!).

Good news!! Cases in Italy have decreased for the second day!

That is good news. I’m getting a little concerned about Asia (not including China) though. Hearing this news doesn’t help: https://www.cnn.com/world/live-news/coronavirus-outbreak-03-23-20-intl-hnk/h_d58956be3dbbe22647f404630fcc628f :(

If anyone can snatch defeat from the Jaws of victory it's this team.

India, Indonesia and Malaysia are bound to be hotspots. Don't trust those government's to be able to take appropriate actions.

Hopefully that trend holds.  China peaked in late February, or roughly a  month from when the virus was clearly spreading.  Italy started seeing cases in late February so the timing seems about right.  Unfortunately, the death rate has been absolutely astronomical there.

If the same trends hold true here, we probably have another two weeks or so until it peaks.

They can't get out of their own way on test kits still. WTH can't they just ask South Korea? Or the other countries with solutions???

Sad but true. Leave it to our government to screw everything up once again.

This virus continues to bring out the worst in people especially when it comes to our politicians. It’s really sad to see. :(

Maybe after this we have another 911 moment where the nation came together. It was so refreshing to see neighbor helping neighbor.

Just to be clear, the rate of increase, and absolute number of new cases, decreased compared to previous days. Cases are still increasing, but more slowly, and as far as I can tell new cases still outnumber recoveries. Still hugely positive news as this is the flattening that is talked about and desperately needed, but Italy isn't quite over the hump with this yet.

Correct. Just hope they are at that hump. Would be great for that country.
