Moxy Hotel coming to downtown Winston-Salem

Looks like Downtown Winston-Salem is getting a Moxy Hotel. I think it will be the first in the state. It will rise 8 to 9 stories.

Charlottes had one proposed for a while. Not broke ground I don't think.

Correct I think the developer has bought the land but that is about it for the Moxy Charlotte.

Nevertheless its pretty cool for the image of downtown Winston-Salem. Moxy hotels today are a lot like Alofts 10 years ago or so. It was a pretty big deal for a city to have an Aloft. Now Alofts are starting to pop up and just about every city of any size.  But even so Alofts are still cool and are not as common as your typical hotel like Hyatt Place.

One thing Winston-Salem was first at getting in NC was a Kimpton hotel downtown. The only difference is that it was a renovation project in Winston-Salem. In Charlotte it was new construction.

The Triad cities are getting some semi high end to luxury hotels downtown.

You are right Moxy Hotels are still very new and Atlanta just opened their first one.  Now there is a Kimpton in Asheville too in the old BB&T tower there.
