Greensboro Center City Park

Center-City Park is the more formal park across the street from the new Lebauer Park. In essence the two parks combined create one large 6 acre urban park space. Both have water features and while Center-City Park is a more formal space with beautiful plants, fountains and lawns, LeBauer Park is more activity oriented which is rare in many urban parks. Here are some photos of Center-City Park. Greensboro is really stepping up its game with downtown greenspace and let's not forget about the beautiful greenway that loops around downtown as well as a few downtown pocket parks. The city hopes to purchase the large railyard in Southside from Southern Railway. But the railroad company doesn't want to sell it right now. Greensboro needs a large park in the southern end of downtown and the abandoned railyard would be the perfect location. Action Greensboro had renderings 15 years ago showing park space there along with a linear chain of ponds that resembled a small river.
