  1. It's on the Texas side but several large shopping centers are being planned for the Arkansas side. I'll keep you guys posted on that.
  2. Shreveport seems to have become THE shopping destination. I bet people in places like Longview who used to go to Tyler or Dallas now go to Shreveport. I've heard that smaller cities that are closer to larger fast growing cities will grow as well. I wonder since Texarkana is relatively close to Shreveport do you see something like that happening here?
  3. Wow! I have a friend who lives in suburban Ft. Worth and she says her neighbor's small dog was attacked by coyotes. That area was semi rural before and now there are shopping centers and housing developments.
  4. Hey man. Kohl's is supposed to be coming up my way. Do Kohl's and T.J. Max sell similar merchandise?
  5. I meant http://www.texarkanagazette.com/articles/2...news/news05.txt
  6. Hey Brian! How's it been? I see the forums have cooled off quite a bit since I was last here. I always look forward to you posting articles about the growth in the Shreveport/Bossier area! These projects will be a very nice addition to downtown.
  7. Kohl's Coming to Town http:www.texarkanagazette.com/articles/2006/05/21/local-news/news/news05.txt
  8. Money available for TAMU-T Expansion http://www.texarkanagazette.com/articles/2...news/news02.txt
  9. Wow! That's really nice. I would like to see Shreveport when all those projects are completed. Also that shopping/entertainment complex along the Red River, isn't it called The Boardwalk? Anyway, on the news they said many more stores are going to be added soon. I can't wait.

  11. Work on auditorium roof may begin this summer http://www.texarkanagazette.com/articles/2...news/news11.txt
  12. The completion of those projects would make the skyline look even better!
  13. OMG! Beverly is f*cked up! Excuse my French. I mean people deal drugs and prostitute themselves in broad daylight over there. Even the cops don't like going over there. Drive by's are becoming more and more common. As far as your question about property on Moore's Lane, I don't know if that property is anywhere near the church or not. I do know that land is being bought and built on at a very rapid pace. More and more people are heading for the burbs as the inner city areas began to deteriorate. The latest projections show the Texarkana urban area spreading quickly to the north and west and may actually touch the Hooks city limits. Hopefully things concerning crime will get better because I don't want Texarkana to become Sprawlville, USA. Wadley in the top 10% of U.S. hospitals in general surgery care http://www.texarkanagazette.com/articles/2...news/news10.txt I was very surprised to hear this!
  14. That would be good bringing more people to the CBD. The last time I was in Shreveport, I visited a friend who lives in one of those downtown lofts.
  15. I agree with everything you said. A city the size of Shreveport should be advertised as a growing metropolis instead of a small town.
  16. Fight ends in stabbing at Olive Garden http://www.texarkanagazette.com/articles/2...news/news02.txt Rezoning OK'd for office complex http://www.texarkanagazette.com/articles/2...news/news13.txt
  17. Yeah, it described Texarkana as having Western spirit with a helping of Southern hospitality or some mess like that.
  18. I guess that's the reason a lot of crimes aren't reported here as well. The city probably wants to protect our Twice As Nice reputation.
  19. A lot of stuff happens here that's not reported on the news. People tend to think that whatever the news reports is all there is.
  20. Texarkana ranks third in the state for car thefts http://www.texarkanagazette.com/articles/2...news/news02.txt This is ridiculous!
  21. I'll keep that in mind the next time I'm in Bossier.
  22. That's funny because at Texarkana College the cars the security guards drive look just like police cars. They even have the red and blue flashing lights on top. I think it's hilarious because they actually think they're cops.
  23. How big is Mansfield? Do you know if it's growing north as Shreveport is growing south? Also, I always wondered why so many small towns are against Wal-Mart. Is it because they think a large store like Wal-Mart would shut down some of the smaller stores?
  24. When they first brought bus service to Texarkana there were quite a few people who didn't think the service would last including Yellow Taxi drivers. Now look at it. T-Line has surpassed 200,000 riders per year and Yellow Taxi is struggling. Not only has T-Line put a dent in their customer base but a new taxi company, City Taxi has as well. It's much better than Yellow Taxi because the dispatchers are nicer and the drivers don't try to pull a fast one on you. Some time ago I used to take the cab to school and it was always the same price which was $2.35. One day I catch the cab home from school and the driver tries to charge me $1.00 extra. I told him that I always paid $2.35 and he began arguing with me. I told him "Look, take it or leave it because I'm not paying you extra. After that I just walked the mile to and from school. At least I got my exercise.
