Still looks like we are at least 2 years out based on the proposal language.

In the business journal's update about 100 N. Main, they mentioned that the developers for The Walk will likely be asking for a financing extension at the December board meeting for the DMC. Good to know that the current developers are still pursuing this project.

An under the radar update came from a news report yesterday. It looks like an last minute public meeting was held to discuss the cruise dock expansion and this involved incorporating Greenbelt park for cruises. It also included a sketch for a ferris wheel to be located at the 'Lone Star" site near Bass Pro and floating restaurants at Cobblestone Landing. I recently read, but forgot the source, that Varsity has re-engaged with the developer for the office portion of the space. Hopefully that portion keeps moving ahead.

The developer that bought the BiLo/Piggly Wiggly site is negotiating with prospective tenants for a mixed-use mid-rise development. The city is trying to get the developer to agree on providing a full service grocery within the new development.

Not too sure about that one. Despite Saks' departure, Charleston still is pretty formidable in national retail due to tourism.

That would either be the College of Dental Medicine's new building, or the new Drug discovery building. According to the university master plan those buildings are a part of phase 2 in reference to the vision 2020 expansion. The parking garage on Bee Street should be coming soon also.

The law that was passed seems highly unconstitutional so it should not be the charm. Has James Island provided its own police force yet?
