  1. Golden Corral is listed as coming to Shackleford and I-40...I'm assuming that is really Shackleford and I-430, at Shackleford Crossing.
  2. Another restaurant coming to East Oak in Conway... TGI Friday's!
  3. Logan's Roadhouse is coming to East Oak - Marble Slab Creamery to Salem Rd.

    Hot Springs

The new fairgrounds are out on 270, between Hot Springs and Malvern...near the county line. Last time I was on Higdon Ferry, they were widening it in that area, but not sure how much progress they've made. They've also made several exit/entrance improvements in that area. They really did a good job alleviating the traffic headache at the bypass and Central.

Fairground Crossing Some of the stores that have been announced are Sam's Club, Best Buy, and Bed Bath & Beyond. This is being developed at the old fairgrounds on Higdon Ferry, near St. Joseph's.
  6. The Wal*Mart SuperCenter on Maumelle Blvd is scheduled to open in spring '08. Ruby Tuesday,Applebee's,Sonic and Colton's will be opening in outparcels.
  7. I'm not sure why there is so much discussion still of whether Dicks's is coming and where. There was a story in AR Business a few months ago that comfirmed they are coming, and the llocation is The Promenade at Chenal.
  8. Ruth's Chris is coming to Little Rock. Looks like the rumor is true. There's an article in the morning news of nwa talking about the opening of the one in Rogers. Arkansas Chops LLC, which is opening the one in Rogers, will also open stores in Little Rock and Tulsa. Here's the link: http://www.nwaonline.net/articles/2007/10/...100407ruths.txt
  9. The only ones that are for sure are Dickinson IMAX, Dick's Sporting Goods, and DSW. Others that are on the site plan, but not yet signed: Ethan Allen, Chili's, Bravo, Select Comfort, J.Crew, Bath & Body Works, Victoria's Secret, Limited Too, American Eagle, Aeropostale, Apple, Claire's, Finish Line, Maurice's, Hollister, Starbucks, White House Black Market, Coach, Banana Republic, Ann Taylor Loft, J.Jill, Coldwater Creek, Talbots, Gap, Mother's Work, Carter's, Gymboree.
  10. Also, Carraba's was said to be locating at Shackleford Crossing. It wasn't in the ADG article...but they are llisted on Monster.com for job openings in Little Rock.
  11. Sometimes, cities are just bad. But, more times than not...people exaggerate and make them out to be worse than they really are. It is true that a city is what you make of it. Fort Smith isn't that bad of a city. Could it be better? Of course. But, that's with any city. When you compare it with cities like San Francisco, well, of course it's not going to be good enough for you. I actually love Fort Smith. It's a breath of fresh air from NWA. NWA is nice, but looking like every other booming area in the country. Fort Smith actually has history and character. I don't see how you can call the city stagnate. It is land-locked to the west and river-locked to the north and east. But, it is still adding population and development. You certainly have your right to your opiniion of the city, but don't come on here bashing it and expect us to take it as fact.
  12. So, I'm watching Channel 7 news and they have a story on the growth of Maumelle. Both anchors made comments like, "Maumelle, at one time, a Little Rock suburb." and "Once a Little Rock suburb, now a bustling city." LOL Ok, I know it's growing and it is becoming more of a city. But, c'mon...it's still a suburb of LR. Their comments to me were just comical.
  13. The Maumelle city limits extend a lot further toward 430, on the south side of the blvd. River Pointe Apts are in Maumelle, and that is a good distance before you reach the city limit sign of NLR, heading toward Maumelle. Coming from Maumelle, you don't see the NLR city limit sign until you get just past River Pointe Apts. So, maybe some of this development will go in on the southern side of the blvd.
  14. The Jonesboro Chamber of Commerce suggested that 226 be developed into I-730. That is something only talked about by the Jonesboro Chamber, as far as the designation. For many reasons, 67/167 will not and cannot become an extension of I-30. The most logical and most talked about designation for it is I-57, which is a north-south interstate running from Chicago to Sikeston, MO...very close to the bootheel. That would create an interstate from Little Rock to Chicago. Maybe the 226 connector will become some I-X57 interstate, but certainly not an I-730. I cannot imagine an east-west interstate running from Fort Worth, Texas, to Southern Missouri.

    Hot Springs

This is news from last month, but no one ever posted it. Hot Springs was chosen for a new passport facility. It is open, but not yet fully operational. By the end of the year, it will employ 200 and will produce / mail over 10 million passports annually. The Hot Springs facility will become the primary passport facility for the entire US.
  16. Hot Springs Village is the largest retirement community in the country...and they have a large and ever-growing number of high schoolers and younger people in general.
  17. Ruby Tuesday will be built in Conway on Sanders Rd.
  18. Zaxby's coming soon to Sherwood, on Brookswood Rd.

ahhhh ok. Thanks. I was really wondering what happened.
  22. Saline County is a county of 100,000 residents, and growing. The demographics are changing as people move in from other parts of the country, and Little Rock. Just like any other surburan county in the US, the conservative hold will loosen and people will be able to drink and live their lives as they choose.
  23. Well, this location would employ and cater to decidedly different demographics, so it won't be the same as the other location, whether that be a good or a bad thing. Quite often is the case that one location of a chain might be awful, while another may be the best experience you've ever had.
