Beginning in the 2000 census the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill MSA was changed to the Raleigh-Cary MSA and the Durham-Chapel Hill MSA, to better show commutes. But what is more important is that we are all listed first as the Raleigh-Durham-Cary CMSA. And then it breaks down to the individual MSA's. This way we are still part of the large group/Triangle but also each area has more of an identity.

Agreed! If they don't plan long term, then come the future, it's going to look more hodge-podge. And not like it was planned.

This is the exact response that I got from the architects. "The project has been placed on hold. I do not think it will go forward." And this is for the Steak & Ale project, next to Edwards Mill Rd/Creedmore rd.

I totally agree! I thought that the picture in the N&O showed a different place for Kids Hill/Galleria? I guess this may mean that Kidds HillGalleria is probably still on hold and that the Brewer's lot is moving on through the planning stage? Maybe someone should contact the N&O wrighter of this story to confirm?

Wouldn't it be cool if the reason that the complex behind Crabtree,(the old Kidds Hill Plaza), hasn't started is because it is being considered by the mall for some sort of extention?

Imagine how different the Crabtree Valley area would feel with just three traffic lanes on either side of the mall!

If I am not mistaken the road that is being referred to,(located in front of the Kidds Hill Plaza), already exist. It's called Crabtree Valley Lane,(or something like that). It is located between the K H P and the city trail and Crabtree Creek, right at the tree line. I believe..

I remember that hotel as well. God do I feel old!

I wish that the owners of the Kiddshill Plaza land got together with the Crabtree Valley mall owners and really did something as exciting as the new North Hills. If I had my say, I would add the Crabtree Creek into the design. Tear down the old Belks and expand that whole area not just one piece/building at at time. But enough about me and my ideas. At this point it would be nice if they would at least tear down the old Steak and Ale and clean up the area. I would be happy with that for now.
