  1. Got these shots while down at City Hall the other day.
  2. This sounds cool. New housing along the Laker Line. Anybody know more about it? http://www.mlive.com/walker/index.ssf/2016/02/proposed_standale_housing_deve.html
  3. Great news for DT retail. We might just get a department store and grocery store downtown if this pans out. And if the movie theater goes forward, I think we'll be golden. Next wave of DT development, here we go. Story at mlive.
  4. There is really old school rendering of Grand Rapids at the Library of Congress American Memory site. The drawing of Grand Rapids is from 1868. You can zoom in really close and see Park Congregational Church and St. Mark's church. I'm pretty sure there are remnants of Prospect Hill at Pearl and Ottawa. Here's a link. I can't figure out how to put the image up on here. It's better at the LOC site anyway because you can move around the image and zoom in and out. I think you'll enjoy it as much as I do.
  5. Wow. 5/3 is headquartered in Ohio, right? This community is unbelievably fortunate.
  6. What about the southeast corner of Lafayette and Michigan. It's just an old gas station with a 1 story Spectrum building next to it. I think a church owns the house behind it. Could be.
  7. There are shovels and backhoes on Crescent Park next to VAI. There is a big trench being dug. I only assume it has something to do with the expansion. Anybody got details on what's going on there?
  8. I think the land St. Mary's recently bought across Jefferson Ave. would be an ideal spot for the WMMS. They could build lower buildings in a more campus like setting with green space. It's right next to the Heartside and still really just down the street from VAI and Spectrum. Y et still in close proximity to a major medial center and one of their partners. It could just be the spark needed to get redevelopment in the Wealthy/Jefferson area going full tilt.
  9. I really hope they don't use black glass in this thing. It's spooky. Blue glass would be much more appealing.
