  1. This is one instance where I side with the residents and home owners. If I bought my retirement home next to a golf course, then it for corporate greed i’d feel the same way. Obviously some mega builder would want to use that land for something to make profit on. Im all for building new housing developments but taking away a luxury that people paid for seems wrong. Give them the course back.
  2. Norfolk International Airport shares most popular routes in 2023 Here are our top routes for 2023 according to this article Orlando International Airport (MCO) – about 308 passengers each day Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Airport – about 228 passengers each day Tampa International Airport – about 178 passengers each day DFW Airport – about 168 passengers each day San Diego International Airport – about 167 passengers each day It also mentions that the Airport Authority is anticipating that we may run out of parking during the summer months as the airport will have a record number of seats available. link
  3. I agree. I think there’s a million moving parts with that part of the project. There’s going to be multiple projects within that single one. I’m just happy to see a dedicated website now.
  4. Drove by the airport today. They’re clearing all the trees by the Long Term parking entrance. Wonder what they’re building? Expanding the roadway?
  5. You’ll probably see AA compete on this route now
  6. Frontier starts non stop service to PHL.
  7. Frontier to offer new route to Atlanta from ORF. Finally breaking the Delta monopoly.
  8. Yes, mainly expect new routes that weren’t offered before because the A220 was based at another airport. This is a great start at longer international flights out of ORF since the crew can now be used for longer periods of time.
  9. It means that ORF will operate A220’s as well as the ERJ (until they retire them.) We are going to be more like the other bases now like TPA and CHS. Expect new routes in the coming months too. I’m definitely betting on the Provo route.
  10. ORF A220 Base opens around September
  11. I agree, I bet on about a 2 year construction at minimum. It would be interesting to see if the Airport plans on using the current customs facility for anything in the mean time.
  12. My guess is we have a few Airlines wanting to start international service but we just don’t exactly meet the expectations for it yet. Probably fast tracked because we know that the business is there. Breeze could even have a stake in it, we’re definitely in range for some international destinations with the A220. Even the E-Jets can get to Canada easily.
  13. Federal Funding For Customs Facility ORF Received 6M in federal funding for the facility. Construction is expected to begin late summer.
  14. No, we are getting 4 Movers instead of 2. Sure being the longest in the world is cool, but it’s very expensive to maintain.
  15. Has anyone talked about this yet? Looks like Southwest is adding non-stops to St. Louis and Spirit to Boston. The Boston route will be saturated with Allegiant, Delta, and now Spirit.
  16. HAHA I think this same thing every time I read his posts…. It’s an airport buddy it’s not that deep.
  17. Norfolk - Hawaii would be longer than a lot of international routes. That would be something to see.
  18. A better look at the upcoming customs facility.
  19. Portland, OR! My bad, I honestly forget Portland Maine exists sometimes lol
  20. I’d love to see one new Airline and Non-Stops to Seattle and Portland this year. Provo (Salt Lake City) on Breeze would be another wish list.
  21. First new route of 2024: Breeze ORF -SAN
  22. I was just at the Airport and saw that the new RON apron has opened at the end of what used to be a parking lot. Breeze has 3 ERJ 190’s parked at the moment. As breeze converts its other hubs to strictly A220 bases, the ERJ’s are being transferred here.
  23. I know it’s grant money and can’t be used for anything else… but damn would it be nice to see it used for LR.
