  1. I’m not worried about Monroe as they’ll still be talking about its fate 10-15 years from now. Nothing is happening either way with this for years and years imo.
  2. this. The other food hall that didn’t work out seems to be more of a result of an odd legal spat between investor and contractor(s). Neither of these food hall issues have anything to do with the size of the metro. If anything, RVA well out punches its weight class in the food space. Id argue that our food scene is so competitive that you better bring a good product to the table or you ain’t gonna last. Too many other good options. As Brent said, if Hatch had a fun, festive vibe with more sensible options it would be incredibly popular. No one has opened a GOOD food hall here yet. Not Richmond’s fault!
  3. Looks like it may be time to fire up the campaign for the rebrand to the Henrico Hippos…
  4. I’m going to take this as good news and run with it…haha! At least it’s SOMETHING!
  5. Now that is a unique take and words i never thought I’d see strung together. No shade, just a hot take in a direction you don’t see often. Cheers.
  6. Anyone know when these would actually break ground once selection is made?
  7. Agreed! Of the two Navy Hill was my preference. It would be probably about halfway completed by now too…huge missed opportunity - was so exasperated watching the final city council vote on it that night years ago…
  8. At this point I’ll take a modern arena anywhere - it’s an embarrassment a city of 1.3-1.4 mil doesn’t have a legit venue for sports/big shows.
  9. Got Sunday ticket as well here in RVA to watch my….CAROLINA PANTHERS! I feel this site will vote me off the island to know I’m a RVA resident who pulls for anything Charlotte - lol- long suffering hornets fan, too!
  10. Aye man we’re 1.34 million! Don’t short change my city!
  11. Agree that the exact example comparison may not be the best, but I agree with the post above that NIMBYism in general is not a red/blue issue. It unfortunately permeates all walks of life/habitats. We need to get away from politicizing everything we face in human life (not calling you out on this, in general terms). It can be become a tedious, frustrating existence when we view the world through a political, us vs them, mentality. NIMBYs are bad enough without painting them red or blue
  12. Give me bottom floor restaurant/retail below 15 stories of hotel space, below 15 stories of residential (mixture of rentals/to own) for a nice 31 story tower.
  13. Wonder if they can roll this into greencity? Henrico, you’re on the clock!
  14. A reminder that we are fortunate for every project that’s currently in motion right now.
  15. Is this the admiral project? I hope not, but funny that feeling worry about I Miss RVA was the first emotion I felt when reading the article before my own disappointment haha.
