  1. We can see 5 cranes in this picture! Sent from my GM1917 using Tapatalk
  2. With all the development in that area the downtown will stretch out nicely along the river, I remember years ago when all the tallest buildings where in the Congress ave area. Something very interesting also is that the new buildings don't have a spire or antenna, buildings like 360 or Fairmont hotel are in the tallest buildings list at the top but they are not that tall. In my opinion the Austonian and the Independent are the buildings that really make a great impact in the Austin skyline but with this 44 East, Guadalupe, Google, Hannover and Indeed etc we are adding a great improvement of 1st tier buildings that will put Austin skyline close to Houston or Dallas, you tell me that 20 years ago and I would laugh. 3. Amazing, thanks ATX for all the updates. This is a really nice looking tower and will help to stretch the skyline more to the East. Incredible how Austin is growing! Sent from my GM1917 using Tapatalk
  4. I mean tower activity, Sparrow and Church Street are if I am not wrong in in the 25/30 stories range. That will make some impact in the Orlando skyline at least. I know there is a lot of low rise activity in Orlando, but in my opinion a 8/10 stories apartment building in prime location is not what I am expecting for a city with the explosive growth of Orlando. 5. Great news, finally something going up. The link with the renders in the first page is broken, anyone have final renderings or a link? At least with this one and the new Church Street plaza that is supposed to break ground soon we'll have some activity Sent from my GM1917 using Tapatalk
  6. Most of the major employers are not close to downtown at all, Amazon, Samsung, Apple are far from downtown, some of them like Dell are not even in Austin but Round Rock. I think the only companies with presence in downtown are Google and Facebook but I don't think they have as many employees as the other campuses far from the city. Rents and real estate is very similar in price and property taxes are considerably more in Texas. About the reason for the little downtown we have in Orlando being a new city, yes is a very new city, but Austin 20 years ago was small city too, probably even smaller than Lakeland. I love Orlando and I have many real estate investment in Orange and Seminole county I would love for Orlando core to grow and become a major city but it looks like is only sprawling and has that little city feel. 7. I agree on that, impressive tall buildings help to make the city different, proud, confident and desirable for companies and investors. It has to be a reason, while in Orlando developers build a 10 story apartment complex in prime location in Austin they are building a 40/50 story tower. Maybe some incentives from the city or something. Sent from my GM1917 using Tapatalk
  8. Yes, Austin TX, this city is a little bit less than 2 million vs Orlando metro is a little over 2 million. If you guys take a look at the Austin forum there are several 500s 600s even a couple over 700s and 800 ft. Downtown is very vibrant also, I would say way more than Orlando. The thing is that Orlando as a city is growing a lot, only that is not growing up. Sent from my GM1917 using Tapatalk
  9. Hi there, I am new here, is this project or the sparrow project still going? I moved out of Orlando a couple of years ago and is amazing to me how little high rise activity is in Orlando. I live in a city smaller than Orlando and there are 15/20 +300 ft towers going up. Sent from my GM1917 using Tapatalk
  10. Hi there, I just registered here to thank you for the great information you always bring here. Thank you and let's keep enjoying with the growth of Austin. Sent from my GM1917 using Tapatalk
