  1. @KJHburgNo worries. Blue font Downtown Raleigh is changing so fast it will add another name by the end of the week.
  2. @KJHburg Nice pics as always, but Smoky Hollow isn't really an area in downtown Raleigh. The RUBUS is in the Warehouse District of Raleigh which is roughly the area on the west side of downtown south of Hillsborough Street to the Boylan Wye where the Raleigh Union Station is located. Smoky Hollow is a development in Glenwood South the area between Hillsborough and Peace Streets to the West of Capitol Blvd.
  3. Concourse A and Terminal Lobby Expansion progressing nicely!!!
  4. IDK if Greyhound is the hold up. They have already moved the bus station to a temp location off 4th and Graham. My guess is Amtrak doesn't want to commit to building a temp facility and is willing to continue using the N. Tryon location until the new CGS is finished. https://goo.gl/maps/NsAoV2Hk4kQs82GS9
  5. @lit Thanks for the alternate options. Depending on the time of day I go the long way or cut through the neighborhood. I guess my point is that NCDOT chooses to leave crossing 4 lanes of traffic as an option instead of closing the access points and re-routing the traffic to a frontage road when the traffic flow on Independence is at a speed equal to that of the area interstates.
  6. Tragically another example of poor planning by the NCDOT. I never understood why they didn't make the upgrades to Independence fully controlled access. As the road is expanded the traffic flow is constantly 10 to 15 mph over the posted 50 mph signs. I dread pulling on to Independence from the Walmart and having to gun it just to get up to speed in order to exit on to Albemarle Rd.
  7. Top ten largest hospitals in North Carolina by bed size in 2021 (hospitalmanagement.net) Duke University Hospital as of 2021
  8. In NC the transponder account is tied to a license plate. My son lost the transponder tied to the plate on my car. I called to get it replaced but the turnpike agent told me don't worry about it. As long as the plate is tied to an active account, they charge the toll as if you have the transponder displayed automatically. That was over 2 years ago. I haven't tried using that car out of NC yet but every time I get my monthly statement it just lists my plate number and charges the transponder rate.
  9. It is really convenient. Used my quick pass transponder all the way up to Chicago. I was a little worried at the time because Illinios uses I-pass and not EZPass but the light turned green, so I was able to keep it moving.
  10. After the Rock Hill fiasco Tepper has a much better shot at public support retrofitting BOA imo. Removing the seats from the North endzone to create the bunker suites costs 50 mil. Removing the 500 level seating sections below the North or South scoreboard to create a three tier party deck is 100 mil for each end??? 200 mil totally changes the appearance and feel of BOA while potentially allowing a great view of uptown. Total number of seats will be reduced but SRO tickets will make up the difference. . Installing an ETFE roof if Tepper wants doubles the cost, but even if that is 500 mil it is far better than 2 billion for a new stadium to extend the life of BOA another 15 to 20 years
  11. Are you planning a "charlottefive" update article in the near future???
  12. Where does 37 floors fall height wise? 600ft, but less than 700ft?
  13. The former owner Jerry Richardson didn't want the grass damaged by the tour equipment being moved in and out of the stadium if I remember correctly. As a result the stadium was only limited to sporting events.
  14. Is the new ATC tower operational yet? If it is when will the old ATC tower between the parking decks be taken down?
  15. It would be nice for the Panthers to do something similar to this to put a roof over BOA Stadium.
  16. "Earlier this month, GT Real Estate was approved for its debtor-in-possession financing after several hours of hearings with strong opposition from creditors." Anyone have an idea what the benefit of debtor-in-possession financing is for GTRE? Everything you read about this project says that the site will be sold and redeveloped, but the examples of companies that have used DIP financing while in Chapter 11 use the financing to keep the business operating. Is it possible that Tepper may be looking to have this project completed in the future?
  17. Glad that you were not offended. I would hate to see your response if you were offended . But seriously I didn't intent to confront or anger you or anyone else, only point out a different perspective. Like someone said earlier let's get back on track tlkn abt Lkn Hrs's Lgcy Unon
  18. Wow did I said the earth is flat??? My location is irrelevant. I'm not offended. I pointed out the irony in the one name not spelled out is Brooklyn after the street name was changed. Was it intentional? Yes obviously. Was it done with some nefarious intention? I certainly don't think so. @go_verticaldidn't seem offended I pointed out the irony, why should you be?
  19. Forgive me for reading way too much into this comment, but I have to say something about Bkln Village. If that is the level of effort you put forth when you are referring to Brooklyn Village then just keep calling it Stonewall. Does it take longer to type Brooklyn? Yes, but at least Brooklyn Vlg to shorten the spelling. The name was changed to Brooklyn for the historical context and it is literally the only word not spelled out. Can we at least give it a month before we start trying forget that the new name is Brooklyn Village?
  20. @KJHburg Very interesting proposal. Winston-Salem is approximately 70 miles from Bank of America Stadium while Rock Hill is less than 25 miles. For comparison the Star facility is Texas is 30 miles from ATT Stadium. I am not sure the staff and players would want to drive 140 miles round trip four days a week vice 50 miles. I would have to agree with @J-Rob moving the daily operations to Winston-Salem doesn't seem very practical for a team that is supposed to be based in the Charlotte metro area.
  21. The plan to consolidate was changed post covid in 2021. https://news.duke-energy.com/releases/new-plaza-in-uptown-charlotte-to-become-duke-energys-corporate-headquarters
  22. With the announcement of all the projects in SE and the Ellis hotel project restarting are there any rumblings on the Intercontinental hotel project proceeding/continuing?
  23. @SydneyCarton If Deloitte and Honeywell are the LH standard the parking base should be integrated very nicely.
  24. Deshaun, needs a fresh start and it doesn't appear that he will face criminal charges. Why not give him a second chance a possibly improve the team
