  1. Uptown at sunset, with the SouthEnd rising up.
  2. Curious what you mean by "remote hold outs working at home"? I can assure you MSFT isn't forcing anyone back into offices regardless of location......

If you take a look at the area schools, the demographic breakout is accurate. Using AKHS as an example:
  4. That's combined state sales tax and occupancy tax, most cities including Charlotte (15.25% also) are around that mark with a lot above that rate. I doubt this will have any impact on tourism or business travel in Nashville.
  5. I really dislike this train of thought, trying to improve a place isn't bad thing. NC has changed a LOT in the past 10 years for the better. This type of thinking is why other southern states continue to lag behind the rest of the nation in almost every QoL metric.
  6. Didn't know they could change up the colors, I like it a little more now. Courtesy of https://www.instagram.com/mattshdr/
  7. A quick look at https://www.crimemapping.com/ shows there are way more assaults and crime in the SP mall area than around the CTC. I know that get's in the way of the narrative you are pushing, but take a look for yourself.
  8. I always see people waiting there, but it's mostly employees of the mall and surrounding areas. I think that is where the disconnect is, public transit should be primarily for people to get to and from work. You could make the argument for access to critical services as well, but mass transit's intended use isn't' really shopping.
  9. South Park has one of only three transit centers in Charlotte, I think it was the first one built here.
  10. To be fair, Neidorff has done very little help out in a city where Centene is HQ. The CEOs of the large companies HQ here have been fantastic philanthropists for the city of Charlotte and the state. Neidorff doesn't really fit that culture if you look at his history. Happy to have the "east coast HQ", but less so excited about their leadership.
  11. It's a shame Merino's ego is going to ruin a decent brewery. Zero concern for his employees or patrons, it's all about him. I actually use to hit up OMB a few times a year at least, but will be avoiding them in the future. Charlotte has way too many fantastic breweries without this type of bs.
  12. I agree with you for the most part, but I think that you ire is a bit misplaced with this project for several reasons; It's being built on already developed land right off the interstate, they aren't carving up CM Park for it. If you are looking at environmental impact to Cleland Co, I would look more into Lithium mining. I know you don't want to hear it, but this area is low income with low growth so hundreds of jobs for very little impact. It's being opened by the Catawba tribe, I won't get into the politics of that, but let's just say they should have a say in what is built also. I'm not discounting ego tourism, but one of the biggest gripes about it is that places become to popular and tend to get overrun. That runs counter to the premise of tourism in general. I think the focus should be on improving parks and air/water quality for the people living in these places more so than to create eco-tourism.
  13. In all fairness, the casino, restaurants, and retail will not only provide tax revenue but also jobs to people in KM and Bessemer City. They should have more of say in what happens than tourist from Charlotte who come to enjoy the views. I'm against urban sprawl as well, but I don't think they are lacking for open space in Cleveland County.
  14. Love Spoons, but it did feel like it's been going downhill slowly for the last few years. Sad to see it go though.
  15. Looks like mostly banks, hedge funds, and investment groups to me. If you think they care about anything but profit, you weren't paying attention in 07/08 apparently. I also work for one of the largest corporations in the US, but putting your blind faith into them is naive at best.
