If they install the comfy recliners seats it will replace Breckinridge as my go to theater. A dine in and bar would also be neat but I won't get my hopes up.

Would be nice to see the acxiom building full again bringing more daytime activity to the river market. Simmons has rapidly grown the past several years. Maybe they could even build a new office tower downtown. LR hasn't seen a new mid/high rise office building in what seems like ages.

Sorry I was wrong, could of sworn I read that Bentonville was getting one but I guess it was something else.

Bentonville has an In N Out. Not saying it will be one but it would be cool. At least we have a David's burger in the river market. I wonder what kind of retail the new library parking deck will get? Seems like a good spot for a Bar Louie type place.

Holiday in express on same block as Hilton garden inn? How accurate is this? Doesn't seem to be room for that on the block but if so that's exciting -

I've lived in Little Rock for 5 years and haven't seen a new construction project over 6 floors in downtown area. Guessing demand isn't there and lack of developers. -

I wonder if they plan on the two hotels sharing parking? That will be nice density on that block, hope to see more apartment projects planned in that area soon. The demand seems to be there -

Unfortunately this is the street our highway engineers want to run interstate on/off traffic through (4th St.) for the new 30 crossing plan. Just as the area was starting to become a walkable/livable environment. -
Does the deck have any retail space facing Clinton Ave? If not what a huge missed opportunity. And yes, it's not very pretty to look at

Nice to see this project getting off the ground. Now it's Alofts turn -

I agree that the Aloft needs to happen. I like the Hilton garden inn site and hope it still gets built, not sure what's causing the long delay? The Vib project seemed like an odd project and location, not surprised to hear that it may be cancelled. -
Looks like Northwest Arkansas and dozens of other small-mid sized markets may be getting Top Golf. No mention of Little Rock unfortunately. I think one would do well around midtown or near the outlets.

Get ready for the boom NWA, word is getting out. Also, Little Rock came in at #32, not bad.

I regularly get hit up for money walking near the station. Sometimes they become angry/aggressive if ignored or not given what they want (bus money usually). It's why my friend moved out of MacArthur park and why I never considered the area when searching for an apartment near downtown. I'm glad people use the service to get to work, I'm not saying get rid of it. They could ask the people who regularly use it where it would best serve them. I don't think people who stay in hotels or upscale condos use it personally. -

Interesting spot for a hotel. They need to deal with the homeless problem in that area. IMO, I would move the Central Arkansas Transit station elsewhere as it attracts a rough crowd and bus pollution, I'm sure that would cause an uproar though. -

^Very cool development! -
Hopefully the historic district commission doesn't stand in the way of this project. The building has sat empty for 25 years and has no historical significance.

^Great news. MT continues to show why they are the best in the city. -
Yes, I-30 expansion does threaten the continued growth and success of the river market. Would like to see us do away with the 2nd street exit/on ramp and find another way to get people DT. City leaders and AHTD need to step up and present a better plan.

Hilton Garden Inn rendering, impressive density in that area. Hopefully developers start looking to fill the gaps between the River Market and Main St, too many surface parking lots on Scott/Cumberland & 4th street. -
Transportation Projects, Roads, Light Rail, etc
Heartland25 replied to mcheiss's topic in Northwest Arkansas
That is the catch, have to pay to play though. These kind of projects could help change Arkansas's hillbilly reputation. -

Imagine riding your bike from Fayetteville to crystal bridges and taking light rail back. Or taking it to work and to and from the airport. It would further connect the metro, attract a younger educated population, and encourage density. I would be a supporter -
2 floors retail, 6 hotel & 2 condos doesn't seem unreasonable for a growing city nearing 85k. Fville seems against taller density projects so I wouldn't be surprised with 4-5 floors.

Anything on the mountain inn site lately? It was announced a year ago that condos and a hotel would be built but haven't seen any details since. I'm hoping for something similar to the Renaissance, it's a great location that deserves an impressive development. Can't wait to see what finally goes there.
