NCDOT doesn't care for Charlotte like that, and NCDOT is still rural-centric in planning, also it doesn't help that the legislature is so focused on rural areas for transportation money.

Well the one good thing about state run ABC is that all the stores are neatly organized and cleaned. I’m not against privatization, but private liquor stores in other states can be in horrible locations or can be poorly run down looking. Stateline Elite is one of my favorite privately owned stores, I just find Frugal MacDougal a cluster fudge

I hated Business 40 when I was living in Winston during my college days, horrible short, and narrow merging lanes. Winston-Salem seems to be fine with the shut down as Business 40 is mostly for local traffic though.

The current ROW isn't wide enough for 2 express lanes with buffers and shoulders. Independence Boulevard: $76.8 million to build a new toll lane in the median of Independence Boulevard from I-277 to Albemarle Road.
