  1.  I guess this is why Nashville Ready Mix is trying to move operations to thier property on Baptist World Center.

While I probably would not frequent something like this, I think it would be a good fit next to LP Field. Maybe get the ball rolling a little faster on relocating PSC Metals for possible mixed use and/or greenway options.

  2. Must be when you go there or who is working. We went there after it first opened and ordered two burgers to go and they were not that good. We're not that picky and I really wanted to like it too. My two cents, Edgefield Sports Bar has a great burger. I also agree that Sportsman's grill patty melt and burger are good (but pricey). Pharmacy is decent but a little overrated and sometimes inconsistent. The Crying Wolf actually has excellent mini burgers and Fat Bottom is probably my favorite recent burger. Haven't been to Gabby's yet.

  3. I hope this is the case.  Hell, there's an empty car lot up in Inglewood they could take over if they wanted.

Yeah, I saw some meltdowns on the EN FB group last night over this.  Kinda bummed that there were no meetings beforehand, considering how everything down in Lockleland Springs gets 20 meetings before they even name the place.  AND they get all the bars and restaurants and we get this crap?  Must be nice for them.

On a positive note, Sip Cafe looks really close to completion.

Are we sure this is East Nashville/Inglewood and not Madison? Google Street View always seems to default to this location when it can't figure out if it's Gallatin Rd / Ave / Pike. There was a permit for a new Chinese restaurant that everyone thought was going to East Nashville (NADC area) because Google Street View defaulted to this area and it actually was built in Madison. The Post actually said "East Nashville to get Chinese Restaurant". I don't see where they are going to jam a 1.7 million dollar used car lot in that location?

Okay I Googled 2430 Gallatin Pike North Madison and it looks like a landscaping business across the street from a car dealership near the Sumner Co line. I would be willing to bet this is where the used car dealership will be, at least I hope so.

  5. Regarding the possible Ready Mix relocation - , that little area is sort of a secret connection between East Nashville and Bordeaux, You go west and take Douglas to Dickerson, then go north for half a block, then back on Douglas (in true Nashville fashion) and bam you just avoided Trinity Lane. There seems to be a lot of industrial companies in the area. Sort of pegged that area for a possible hot spot for development because of location. Went through there last night and there was a extremely strong odor from one of the industrial sites. There are some high end homes on a hill that can be seen on the interstate.

  6. Curious what people think of the two new construction homes built close to the intersection of 17th and Eastland? Not the duplex, but the 2 very large detached homes right behind the white colonial that fronts Eastland -- https://www.google.com/maps/@36.1821133,-86.7385836,3a,90y,267.14h,68.17t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1sOozwkfWkH2sItsW8rzFZgg!2e0!6m1!1e1

I personally think they're quite tasteful and very nice with substantial architectural details, but I saw a "Build like you live next door" sign right next door, which made me wonder what others thought of them and perhaps I was in the minority

I've seen worse but not a fan of these two houses....they stick out like sore thumbs in such a high profile/visible area and are too "pointy" and vertical...just my opinion. I guess high ceilings sell houses...

  7. My guess that this rise is rent is not going to elicit the same response that Ben Folds generated with Studio A. Surrounded by likewise brown fields in an industrial area, the highest and best use argument might be hard to prove right now. A play to get dialogue started for a possible sale with the other leasers to force PSC's hand?

  8. Driving down Gallatin Rd today and noticed in the building that has been hosting East Nashville Underground (or former "Matty's Alley") is "Hail Dark Aesthetics" looks like a curio shop. And also a new sign today - "East Side Live". This looks promising, a neat event space. I would like to see this area activate as a little destination. It's right down the road from the proposed Oasis Market. foobar's been around there for like 7 years or so.There is some building stock nearby that's promising.

  9. Wasn't sure where to put this. I went to a great little fund raiser in McMinnville a few weeks ago called Sip & Saveur and was taken by the quaintness and beauty of the old town area. I snapped a few pics with my crappy camera phone. There were some new businesses popping up and some revitalization happening. They still have their old theater, Park Theatre, and according to my sis-in-law, they are in midst of fundraising and renovation. Sort of reminds me of a little section of Asheville NC. There is even a very large hill that might pass for a mountain behind the city street/water tower (although it did not come through in my pics)

  10. Got fined $600,000, which means if they got 600 people or groups to foist over $1k for access, they broke even. Absurd. The prosecutors in this case should be ashamed. They'd ruin private individuals with the fines and potential jail time if they were caught doing this. Marriott got off with a slap on the wrist.

Not suprising. The place is set-up like a casino, encouraging all attendee's/guests to not leave so they will spend all thier cash within the confines.
