  2. Offf! Parking looks like it will be a premium. Only about 30 spots on-site.
  3. According to GR permits, construction was Anticipated to start on 07/15. Which is in-line with current status. Looking forward to this.
  4. Looked up permit's yesterday. 1300 block buildings are in utility cut off status. So, I would assume demo could start end of this month or next. Bonus find, Metronet is building out fiber in the neighborhood.
  5. Is this the demise of the Creston Brewery? Door's are locked and no business action. Sad. Walking distance from my house. Been there once. No TV's, so didn't have a desire to go back, since I drink beer watching sports. Really don't want to just stare at people. That's creepy. They may have been out of touch, as far as I am concerned. But still sad to see closed doors.
  6. God I hope so. I just drive by that corner yesterday and thought when is that empty spot going to be filled. Also tired of looking at the other aging two buildings down the road.
  7. Well, it finally happened. Creston Market store is putting up security fencing around the windows. Sad. I don't blame them. Though it makes Plainfield look like a terrible area.
  8. Glad they are giving it another go with a new name/menu. I didn't even know Mainstreet BBQ was there until two months ago. I live blocks away and drove by it every day. It had a little sign and zero advertisement that I saw.

  13. That would be the most incredible development in Creston! I think it would be a game changer if true. Good find. Now to wait and see.
  14. So, that would be $1400 a month in mortgage payment. Assuming that is monthly payment with taxes, insurance. On a $100,000 house, wouldn't that be between $600-$700 a month for a house mortgage? I'm seeing rent for 3 bedrooms, going for about $1200. Is it really an affordable issue or just a housing availability issue? Just trying to put the numbers together.
  15. Could someone explain, exactly what affordable housing costs? I keep seeing this brought up, but do not know what is considered affordable.

  19. Did 616 Development flat-line? I see 1331 Plainfield NE has turned hands to North Town Real Estate. Also no movement since demolition, last winter, of the buildings across from Creston Brewery.

"The areas shaded blue in this map are subjected to new zoning standards in recommendations the City Commission is considering now. Under the new zoning recommendations, property owners would be permitted to . Build 2-8 row house or townhouse units . Build multi-family condos and apartmentswithin 500 ft of a business district (the areas shaded blue) BY-RIGHT*. The proposed changes would also allow for narrowing the required building width; increasing the number of units that could be built as long as 30% of the units are affordable; allowing accessory dwelling units to be built by-right. *By-right means the property owner has the right to this type of building (still subject to other zoning and building codes).   21. Noticed that also. Thought it was a strange time to start something that was delayed so long. Though maybe demolition is slow right now?
  22. It's true. County funds are not used. In Michigan, roads are handled by Road Commissions. Even though they are county, they operate separately with their own Board of Commissioner's. Along with their own budgets.
  23. Anyone have a guess to when Bridge St. will turn into a one way heading west between either Turner or Seward to Milwaukee? Just my gut feeling.
  24. What cities around the world, with what population densities are you referring? I know of a lot of cities the people walk.
