  1. I just talked to the general manager at Pei Wei in Little Rock. He said they have already selected a location for a NLR Pei Wei and are in negotiations. He mentioned adding another location in the Promenade at Chenal and also adding one in Rogers. Pretty exciting news! I'm a huge Pei Wei fan.
  2. The old Goody's space in Lakewood Village is being remodeled for JoAnn Fabrics. Not so exciting but at least the empty space will be filled. BTW, there is a sign up announcing it.
  3. I went to the J Crew store today. I was not disappointed with the size. It does't seem any smaller than the Jackson, MS or Memphis, TN store. It is configured differently but it has everything that the other stores have. I'm so glad that they have entered our market. Huge gain for LR! BTW, I went by the Apple store around 11:30 a.m. today too. It was surprisingly full of people milling about. The center's parking was full as well.
  4. So my friend's date was off by 7 days. Big deal. I'm just glad it's opening!
  5. I'll see what I can find out about the Wine Loft. I believe that Scott McGehee (Boulevard Bread Co.) is in negotiation with the Promenade about the Blanc Burgers spot. He plans to put some type of restaurant... Also, Flirt has opened. It is on the Chenal Blvd. side of the center. My wife says there is one in Tulsa. It must be a regional chain.
  6. From a close source to the Promenade construction... Apple should open around August 20th! JCrew should open about a month later. Good news for this center!
  7. YES!!!! I'm so excited. This will help me get to PDX a lot quicker than through ATL! So excited.
  8. I like the idea of a food court. I'm totally in agreement with the need for remodeling but McCain Mall is always busy. It's condition has not really stopped people from shopping there (IMHO).
  9. I talked to one of the subcontractors who happens to be a close friend. He said that Apple would be opening in July. He also said there is a coffee shop planned for the space around Anthropologie, Apple, & JCrew. I haven't heard anything about it but I think the center needs one.
  10. I have a hard time believing that they will only spend $5.5 million. Just a new elevator and escalators will be $300,000–500,000. (We just got quotes for our building on escalators and elevators.) They are expensive. Anything done will be better than what is there now.
  11. I concur with LRguy21. It is not if, it is when! Apple has no reason NOT to come to Little Rock. I personally think that the market could easily handle more than one store. I travel frequently and I must say LR's vibrance and resilience is truly remarkable.
  12. I am a loyal Delta flier and it is extremely frustrating the way Delta has downsized LIT's flights. There is no timely way to get to the west coast. I literally have to fly other airlines to shave off 3+ extra hours of travel time to places like SMF, PDX, and LAX. I sent an email to Delta and actually received a personal reply. I encourage everyone to do the same. One flight to MSP or SLC would greatly help us left of the Mississippi river.
  13. If we are wishing.... I wish Delta would bring MSP back. I'm not a huge SLC fan. Right now it takes 8 hours + to get to Oregon. Having a MSP, LAX, or SLC flight would cut that down by half.

  15. Actually the Jackson, MS store was already built before the economic crisis hit.
  16. Drove through the Promenade the other day. It's very exciting to see the progress being made. It amazes me how busy it already is with so few stores. I have a feeling that Anthropologie would not have come here if it didn't think other similar stores would be coming into the center.
  17. Yes, I assume. Our flight was on a DC-9 to Memphis. There was a MD-88 going to ATL. There was also another mainline but I'm not sure where it was going... I have heard on airliners.net that Delta plans to upgrade the Detroit (DTW) flight to mainline, so it could have been to DTW. Pretty exciting!
  18. It was wonderful getting to ride a mainline jet to and from ATL on Delta. In fact, the day I left LIT, all three of Delta's gates were full with mainline jets!
  19. I agree about the MEM flights but the demand is there so maybe it will stay. I just flew on the DTW-LIT it was packed so hopefully we will get one of those flights upgraded to mainline.
  20. Actually, it seemed silly to have 3 AE's in the metro. McCain Mall, Park Plaza, & Promenade. Over saturation IMO!
  21. I was booking flights from LIT for early fall and Delta has mainline service to/from ATL using an MD-88! Super excited! We now have a couple of flights to MEM and ATL using mainline aircraft. All we need now is a DTW mainline. (Wishful thinking)
  22. I'm not trying to question anyone but I seriously doubt that anyone has any inside information about Apple. Their own employees know very little about upcoming products, stores, etc... Apple is VERY tight-lipped.
  23. The Five Guys is open in Lakewood Village! I've been two days in a row. It is absolutely incredible. Is sure to be the best burger/fry place in the metro. IMO
  24. Noticed that the old Tia's building in NLR is being renovated. The wall around the patio has been removed. Anyone know what's going in there?
  25. Just read on airliners.net that Delta will discontinue curbside checkin at LIT.
