  1. I'm sure this is answered somewhere in this thread, but what are the expected timelines for expanding this thing beyond the starter route?
  2. I asked an employee there how they stacked up to other stores in the area when I was buying appliances and they said they do less business than just about every other store around.
  3. You're forgetting Music Factory. Until we add several thousand residents to Uptown and surrounding neighborhoods, I'm not sure Uptown can sustain another nightlife district.
  4. I drive down this stretch of road occasionally and it seems that there are very rarely people in this area. Have I just gone by at the wrong time, or is this always the case?
  5. I can't help but wonder if the Knights could have built the stadium without the need for that 11 million when this was initially proposed. His lawsuits may very well be the reason they now need public assistance.
  6. This is nothing definitive, but they have been doing what looks like surveying type work at Seigle Point. I was looking into a start/completion date for The Lofts at Seigle Point that will occupy the two parcels of land on 10th street and it appears as though they will begin construction late Spring/Early Summer of this year according to the CHA timetable. This depends on HUD funding, but the minutes from the CHA meeting in January made it sound like HUD funding is expected. This will add 190 units to this area. Again, no hard facts, I'm just piecing a few things together and making an educated guess.
  7. I've been out of the area for a couple years and just returned a few weeks ago. I noticed that Jackalope Jacks is nearing completion on the construction of a building in P-M. Are they shutting down the 7th street location, or will they now have two locations?
  8. Model home construction underway in Brightwalk: Picture taken from their Facebook Page: http://www.facebook.com/Brightwalk.Charlotte?sk=wall
  9. Good news. That area will become a nice sub district once housing is in place. Brightwalk will also make this area more of a pedestrian destination (http://brightwalkcharlotte.com/)
  10. I was afraid that is what they would do when they purchased the land. They appear to be putting up fencing. Makes me wonder if they're going to use it as a storage yard.
  11. Some great new aerial photos from the Observer: http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2012/02/16/3017771/mccoll-richardson-field-construction.html
  12. The football stadium is coming along nicely: http://oxblue.com/open/rodgersbuilders/charlotte49ers Concrete for the seating is being poured, the field house is completely framed up and starting to be closed in, the press boxes, concessions, and restroom areas are starting to rise as well. Hard to believe the stadium will be finished this fall.
  13. I see that you added Lofts at Seigle Point. I just bought a place in Seigle Point so I was wondering how long it'd be before they developed the front two lots by the road. Any word on how many of those will be condo's vs apartments? The construction journal says it will be both, but doesn't specify quantity. Thanks for the map, there is more going on than I thought.
  14. You forgot Charlotte. Charlotte is ranked nearly every season and has the 7th best winning percentage in the nation over the last decade. The 49ers just set a pre-season sales record for season tickets with about 1100 sold. Attendance has steadily climbed and I believe another stadium expansion is planned for about 5 years down the road.
  15. If they're building 250 units on $2.3 million, they must be building it out of used card board boxes.
  16. Would rather see another Whole Foods. After living in Maryland for the last two years, I've gotten spoiled by having Whole Foods around. I don't buy everything from there, but their meat and fish selection is so much better than what you get anywhere else.
  17. I like the building actually, but the lack of retail space makes this a terrible project for the location.
  18. Excited to see this nearly finished! I just bought a place on the greenway and my company is looking into getting an office building at the Met. I'd love to be able to walk the greenway to work every morning.
  19. Not construction, but Westinghouse has donated an additional $3.3 million in equipment, funds, and scholarships to the EPIC building.
  20. Would be nice to knock out all those parking lots in First Ward.
  21. A few years ago, when CLT School of Law had only been in business for a year or two, I had heard that there were discussions with UNC CHarlotte to take over because the school was looking to add a law program and CLT School of Law was struggling financially. Now with the state struggling financially, I can't imagine them funding another law program. Maybe if/when things get better, but not right now.
  22. Maybe for the urban village planned for 1st ward around the UNC Charlotte building? Wasn't it supposed to be about that size?
