I keep expecting a dragon and some wildings to pop over this giant wall…. This building is huge. -

I count 28 but I think it is supposed to be 26 plus hat. -

Nice photo. Different vantage point and the sky is beautiful. -
Maybe a mural of former mayors Glenda Hood, Bill Frederick along with Buddy Dyer.

The Nashville Batman building is the ugliest skyscraper in the USA to my eyes at least. Horrible. -
As far as Mica goes. I met him at a chamber of commerce event when I was a PR intern. I was just a kid and he talked some of the issues of the day with me. I guess being a student at the time I was impressed that he didn’t blow me off.

I had the pleasure to meet John Mica. He is really nice low key guy. He was very effective on transportation issues. Here is the route and upgrades if anyone is interest. A Sunrail line to Apopka would be quite a difference maker imo.

Lake Ave. & Pine St. | 33-Story Mixed-Use [Proposed]

I left Orlando for about 15 years. Lived in Atlanta and out west. I know some people don’t see Orlando as a big city but it is. Does it compare with major cities like NYC, Atl, Boston, Miami and the rest? No. Orlando has other charms though. A nice walkable and livable downtown. Vastly improved transportation. Decent culture and sports. A major university. No huge crime areas. I think it really has improved over the last 20 years. The sprawl is a major flaw. We are paving over to much green space. We need to preserve historic buildings. Sunrail needs to be expanded and it needs an east west line or two. These things are doable. We just have have to make it happen. -

If you look closely at the top rendering you can see the third tower. I think these are old renderings. As far as I know the current tower will be at least 26 stories if not 28. -

Rockford Files was so much better than run of the mill 70’s shows. Part of it was James Garner And part of it was all of the great character actors on the show.- 737 replies

Lake Ave. & Pine St. | 33-Story Mixed-Use [Proposed]
GregoryMCSE replied to Jvest55's topic in Orlando
Exactly. DTO is walkable. Good places to eat and drink. Nice performing arts center. Orlando is distinctive. I am all for a couple more 400 ft towers if they well placed and don’t knock down any historical buildings. -

I would prefer a sky bridge between the two buildings if they absolutely have to be connected.- 737 replies

Lake Ave. & Pine St. | 33-Story Mixed-Use [Proposed]

We should dismantle downtown Orlando. We are doomed! Doomed!! I keep seeing Tampa being mentioned in this thread. I was born Tampa and I visit frequently. Downtown Tampa is not super walkable or livable. I like the Mercado area and Ybor City but let’s not pretend Tampa has a vibrant livable downtown…. I mean c’mon people. Tampa doesn’t even have commuter rail. Give me a break. -

I hope you are correct about 28. Either way this has a massive footprint and will look good on our skyline. -

These are from today. This is project is very impressive from street level already. By my count there are 10 more floors to get to 26.
