  1. i wasnt talkin about showing movie listings......from what i seen in the office...it was a look like 3d poster for the movie...i seen one for the old spiderman 3 movie...and i forgot what the other 2 was...i cant explain it...but it look like them digital baseball cards with the lines on it
  2. yea...They will be displaying the new Movies Showing...very kool.....i seen the little model they had in the main office..and thoes billboards look great...id love to see them downtown
  3. yea...i didn't notice it till i looked hard....the people who will be living in perkins rowe have parking Underground....i seen that all over the place....but for regular visitors..i only say like 3 or 4 parking garages. and the one i parked in was only 2 floors...the others were much bigger but 1 of em was already full with cars..and i happen to see the Same car(that Yellow Bug) in the tall parking garage all the time..so im assuming that it's workers if only this could happen this is My Plan i would love to see light rails run down bluebonnet & and coursey Blvd. 1 going down the Airline strip 1 Going down the Florida Blvd strip to downtown and curve on river rd. and come back up government st. 1 down perkins rd...But that ain't happening it's more streets ill run them on...but i ain't gon get into detail
  4. True True....We Do need more hotels downtown...but to answer twstdmd....we need the simple things like cvs and otha places 1st...they'll sell during the day with all the offices in the area...but they will attract a crowd from the condo's and the people living downtown...then more and more stores will start to open like foot locker, cato's,payless, simply fashion...and different clothes stores...then restaurants & clubs will clome...then more people will be in the area....then come the Hotel's...because more people in the area... i was over in the bookstore reading a book about canal st....when it started..there was no clue it was going to be the biggest hotel st. in the city...but as the stores came ...the people came....and the demand for hotels came
  5. comming from New Orleans ...the exit after u pass college drive....close to the Outback And the other stake house...it's pretty close to downtown..but not downtown
  6. Well I jus took A WALK and went into a few stores inside perkins rowe..and all i have to say is WOW...is this Baton Rouge???...the Movie Theaters is comming along great.. but it's a strip in the middle that reminds me of being in a major city..i Love it..and can't wait till it's finished....the only FLAW i see happening is.......PARKING!!!!!!!!! i parked in the garage free...today but when it gets busy...Parking will Fill quickly...I say he needs to purchase land some were along Perkins...and have a Major Parking Lot Built with Busses or vans Transporting people...even if it's 50 cents to $1....but everything else....PERFECT
  7. o I see what your saying...i asked my self that question to aout hotel chains not investing into downtown well Yes....it is a demand for hotels.....Baton Rouge Is becoming a major city before your eyes...and with LSU and SU...football gettin more and more popular every year...u gotta plan ahead....we don't wan't the city to become BIG in the Entertainment & Tour Area...and come up short on hotels but the reason they don't have many downtown is because...at the moment ...they wouldn't be making any money.....it's already 2 downtown that don't sell out often...so untill we get somethin downtown like...Rite Aid ,Cvs....Footlocker...A movie theater....more Bars...More MAJOR events and nightlife....... downtown looses out on money cuz it don't have much to offer...like for instance...LSU games...downtown & College DR. area...are both close to campus...if u were not from here...would u stay Downtown or College area??
  8. i passed by today and noticed men measuring the parkinglot....i hope its ready to start and i can cambria from corp. blv........even through the little centers....im positive it'll stand out
  9. Man just think how it would have looked in the future...if the state would have put a few funds into it and restoring it into a Museum...or landmark...because ive noticed that scenic strip.....comming from zachary is really starting to change i see land being cleared and signs for retail shopping centers and neighborhoods and otha things but when that loop comes that might be a good lil area and that dome would have been great so see.
  10. Well taking a ride down i-10.....The 3 hotels are Just About finished.........The Hampton Inn. and Red Lion are basically done just a few simple tasks maybe needed for them to be complete n open...Now on the other hand Cambria Suites has jus a little bit left but the structure is about done..u can see it from i-10..... but id rather them move some of that wall infront of it.....and maybe im looking wrong ..plz correct me if im wrong but it's only 6 other cities other then Baton Rouge that have Cambria Suites..
  11. I mean some people in this city make me sooooooooo sick.....they complain about the developments here in baton rouge....but they be the same people who try to move their kids to places like Fla, NY,Cali,TX..ect..talking about baton rouge has nothing to offer and they want them to have a better life... but when they try to bring business and different things to baton rouge they have a problem...but it's kool..these sick people would rather put over 100 miles on they car to drive wayyy out of town for something ...when u can get it or do it here
  12. your Right Fla Tiger...i was passing by the courthouse site and i noticed people actually walk up to the sign look at the picture and read the sign for a sec......so thats real good for public intrest..... and yea dan....i cant wait for dat cajun joint to open....
  13. If we are talkin about the same one infront the bingo hall on airline....then thats a No....the sign has been sitting there for a while....but nothing has happened
  14. ohhhh nooo thats not the plants in alsen....thats exxon on the other side of us that give off all them bad smells..they brought all the land from hollywood all the way down till u get to the burger king on scenic..all but the people who refuse to move which is like which is like 20 to 30 out of a possible 400 to 500 people..when u ride on the interstate and look at the strip infront exoon all u see is streets with open land where houses use to be and it makes the city look real country..I hate when they buy people out ..or force people out and don't end up using the land....the airport does it to.....they brought out half of the northeastern part of scotlandville and didn't end up using the last and tried to sell it back but not to many people are intersted in buying it...it was a neighborhood..now it's jus land in the middle of no where..
  15. lol P.S. (a little TSPN smack ) make sure u get the kids a ticket for the event on Nov. 25th the jaguar nation is now taking applications in case u have a change of heart lol j/p
  16. i cant lie...that was a well put together video.....they made baton rouge look like one of the top 24 hour cities in the country
  17. yep..ive made my way over there nice smack talk site and it seem like downtown Baton Rouge was doin good back in the days...i cant wait to see the new downtown developed
  18. just a few pics of oldays of BR i found online
  19. they'll be back in BR for LSU VS FLA
  20. i don't know if yall noticed yet....but 3rd street seems to be gaining more and more people every weekend.....my cousin from houston was like danggg look at all these people ...and all the clubs have a big crowd inside or a long like......and people are walking around downtown drinking and the police havent stoped one person yet from what ive seen.......MORE CLUBS!!!!!!!!!!!! ..it's so many people i see the lil hotdog stand on 3rd street making good business....im glad to see third street and the whole downtown progressing
  21. i wasn't sayin that it was a $600 difference when i was a kid.......i was just sayin that since i was a kid we flew out of new orleans most of the times because it would be cheaper....and that sucks....we loose so much business being a college town and having so many students flying in for both schools..but choose N.O. airport because of the prices
  22. it's been like that since i was a kid...
