  1. Fully agreed. I doubt the temporary green space will provide the necessary tree coverage needed (if any) to replace the shade lost from the building.
  2. I am really confused by this picture, "View of Richmond 1934."
  3. I am curious what they are doing at that corner as I recall the structure as being on the back half of the lot.
  4. Curious in the variance of passengers in versus out. Last year had 1,500 more fly out meanwhile now 3,000 more in. Perhaps more people being able to return in the same month is a factor given there was one more day in the month past Memorial day (May 31 being Wed vs Tues last year). Overall for the year, there is still a larger increase in passengers in versus out.
  5. Genworth dropped a ton to 486, but still F500. Universal Corp. fell off entirely.
  6. A "friend" can confirm that there is plenty of left-over residue and a strong odor, so significant abatement likely.
  7. This. Announced late last year just months after ensuring CT that they had no plans of moving anytime soon.
  8. Ironclad was setup last month in Concourse A, so I imagine likewise in B.
  9. I am estimating 390' at an elevation of 167', placing it 56 CoStarFeet™ taller than the James Monroe tower. Even at your low-end 350', this hotel would become the most prominent tower.
  10. Well that is getting confusing. I had the old "The Tidewater" marked as "Eddy on the James" and the Caravati one as "Trailhead Apartments." "The Tidewater" is "Eddy of the James." Perhaps the Caravati property was just too slow for the name so is transitioning to "The Navigator?" Perhaps "Trailhead Apartments" is the renovated building? https://eddyonthejames.com/

    Shockoe Bottom

The drill was not there last week so good to see this progress now.
  12. Looks like the garage entrance to the Locks Tower.
  13. Consolidated City-Counties are a different animal, such as Philly, Nashville, and Louisville. Then there is the fun of New York City..
  14. Unless you are hating on the evil land-lords, r/RVA will always downvote. It is sadly a terrible forum for any intelligent discussion.
  15. The records place is definitely still active, at-least the smaller building. Records boxes are visible in the larger building but not much sign of activity.
  16. No, that is part of New Market still.
  17. At least most of the rest goes towards the city, so it does not sound that bad for us.
  18. I think the design looks appropriate to the location and Walter Parks designs tend to look better upon completion. I hope the angled sign remains to completion as I love the extended signage like the Morton building on Broad.
  19. I believe early renderings were 5 floors.
  20. That was one for the city's requirements so I would certainly hope so.
  21. I am curious to see how this one goes considering the original goal was for a restaurant space there. The Criterion seemingly only came about as they never found an occupant.
  22. While perhaps less so, it still occurs often enough.
  23. For those arguing Median would be dangerous due to riders crossing Broad: that happens either way. The difference is between crossing 50% of Broad 100% of the time versus crossing 100% of Broad 50% of the time. I would argue it is safer to cross half of Broad compared to trying to make it the full width within crosswalk timing. Station ideas (with priority ranking and mileage from last station traveling West): Dickens Rd [B] (1.4mi) - Large concentration of Office, Retail, and Lodging. Connects a significant Asian community and the node has potential for higher density residential (some proposed). Bethlehem Rd [A] (1.0mi) - Large concentration of Lodging and Retail. Significant medium-density residential under development. Westland Shopping Center [B] (1.1mi) - Decent concentration of popular Retail, Restaurants, and apartments. Connectivity opportunity to Henrico Doctors Hospital and Henrico Government Center (courts). Tuckernuck Rd [C] (1.2mi) - Decent concentration of Retail, Entertainment, and apartments. Cox Rd [A] (2.1mi) - Large concentration of Office, Retail, and Lodging with significant higher-density residential under development. West Broad Village [B] (1.0mi) - Large concentration of Retail, Entertainment, and apartments. Short Pump Town Center [A] (1.1mi) - Duh.
  24. It did not do that for me yesterday or now, so may have been a fluke.
