  1. The prospect of 43,000 cars (expected capacity and a more than 50% increase over current usage) passing over the Huguenot bridge each day sometime in the future does not sit well with me. Cary and River already are already quite congested in the morning as it is, and these two narrow residential roads should never be expected to carry this much traffic.
  2. I'm not a huge fan of the bridge-like structure, but I think these buildings have the potential to be some of the very few architecturally interesting structures in Richmond's recent history/near future. It seems like so many new buildings in this city are either Disneyland caricatures of structures from an idealized past or the urbanizations of the suburban monstrosities one is apt to find in office parks.
  3. The redesigned website is up! http://www.rockettsvillage.com/
  4. Anyone know whats up with the delay regarding the rumored new website? There has still been no update as far as I can tell and the current one seems a bit outdated... I hope they are not rethinking their time scale for development or anything like that.
  5. I too have noticed this. I don't get there much being away at school, but the five or six times I've been there since last summer its been deserted. I went there two weeks ago with my mother on a weekday afternoon and the only store where we were not the only shoppers was Dillard's. I have relatives in real estate who have heard several rumors about tenants leaving Stony Point when their leases are up. Exactly which ones and whether or not there is any truth to this I don't know.
  6. It is a difficult size being deemed to small for a supermarket and too large for many other types of stores. I could see it being divided up into two or three smaller stores. Hopefully it dosen't stand vacant as long as the somewhat similarly sized old Farmer Jack down the street did before being redeveloped.
  7. The fact that Ukrop's closed their popular store on Patterson recently citing its size as the reason may be a sign of a move in that direction
