I noticed that as well. It was an interesting place, the building is great. Speaking of breweries, Harmony Hall is also locked up tight. Did they go out of business, or are they riding out COVID at the Lake Drive location?
Joe
I've noticed that too. Haven't really even seen any activity inside the offices there. Parking lot is almost always completely empty.

Hope they keep the Creston neighborhood vibes / street parties / art. It was never about the over the top great beer for me, I was more about the atmosphere and vibe.
Completely agree!

They had a solid breakfast, however, That Early Bird is now open for dinner. Maybe they are transitioning more stuff there.
Good thing it was empty!

There were moving trucks at Creston on Wednesday....
Oh snap! That sounds sort of serious.
This bit probably belongs in the beer thread but is also food based; Greyline has closed their kitchen but is now canning one of their summer beers.

I live in the Westside area a few blocks from Stocking Elementary School.. Fall of last year I signed up for AT&T's fiber service as soon as it was available in my area. 1 gig up and down for 70 bucks per month. In addition Comcast decided that their stupid monthly data caps were more important than getting my money. So after nearly 7 years with being on Comcast's not so reliable service I was very happy to tell them were they can shove their equipment and then give them the atomic middle finger. Been very happy with my new fiber internet service since.
Thanks for sharing. Fellow Westsider here, closer to Sibley elementary school, bummed that the ATT&T's gigabit service isn't offered over here. Can't wait to give Comcast that same atomic middle finger.

I saw a sign yesterday "coming soon - Madgrub" in the old Red Ball Cafe. FB page doesn't share much info
Unfortunately, that space has said 'Coming Soon : Madgrub' for about nine months with no activity at the space or their online presence. Seems like it's not going to happen.

I have questions about Wheelhouse. I walk by it every day and it’s all cleaned up/cleaned out though there is a ton of furniture stacked up in there...so curious.
I saw that last week. Almost looks like some sort of renovations but it's only a few years old. Definitely curious.

Just an update, if anyone at all happens to care. I walked by today and the water has receded and the construction equipment is gone but their construction road is still there. Where they were drilling (or plugging or whatever) there is something that looks like a galvanized fire pit flush to the ground filled with water with a tree limb sticking out of it:
I noticed this on a bike ride on Sunday. There were people sort of wandering around this area. So strange, is it a new path/part of the park or to be used for commercial purposes?

Just saw someone on reddit saying that Saugatuck Brewing has bought Creston Brewing.
Has anyone heard anything about this? If true I'm wondering what possible changes might come. Went there a couple times but thought it was pretty meh
Interesting ... I'll start asking around if anyone can corroborate.

They’ve also had that on the East Beltline too.
The Leonard Street location too. Well, the restaurant on the south side of the street is rebranded, the bakery on the north side of the street still has the Arnie's branding.

Yup. To be allowed to be open is one thing, but if your business relies on a dense crowd on a Friday and Saturday like movie theaters or traditional indoor sit-down restaurants, then that's a whole other thing. They're completely dependent on significant medical developments. August seems optimistic.
I was just talking about this yesterday with a friend that's a cook at a local brewery and she was thinking August for her place, of course dependent on any significant medical developments. Even if restaurants/movie theaters/breweries/etc ... open but with severely reduced capacities, at a certain point it might not make sense for certain places to open.

Daydreaming about our beloved Wealthy St restaurants... Anyone else?
What I would give for a Garlic Gyro from Zivio, or a pitcher of guava margs from Donkey, or to finally try Royals for the first time. Hell, I even miss going to the bathroom in the grimy Meanwhile not overly worried about what germs there might be. Hope everyone is hanging in there and really hope these lovely businesses make it through this COVID-19 pandemic. Cant wait to see you all soon.
Couldn't agree more.
I'll add in Winchester's hip-hop brunch.

Looks like Virginia joined the over 50% group. But man is that sad.
Very cool response rate tool. You can drill all the way down to census tracts. Interesting to see the response rates across the city.

Ohhh, that's interesting. I'll see what the folks at the shop say. I know their landlord keeps squeezing them for higher rents.
Confirmed a second location for Premier. Opening date TDB now ... and don't mark your calendar for a dope opening party just yet.
