  1. I say he was here scrambling to get a website that was "brand acceptable" thrown together in 24 hours! I also heard he was supposed to meet with some other key people at Quail and that he only spent a couple of hours there in the clubhouse.
  2. Did you copy and paste this from Dougie's article? LOL - Based on the site plan and based on the information on this board over the past year, I would argue differently.
  3. Norm- According to someone in the know, of the US projects, Charlotte and Chicago are really the only ones that are straight Trump developments with no partners or licensing deals. FYI-
  4. Maybe he will have a Batman light on top with a big T flashing up in the sky like commissioner Gordon.
  5. I would say you can count on at least one more than the Taj McColl, knowing Trump. Maybe as many as 6-8 more - Whatever the case, gonna need a big ole TMD!
  6. Also, it would make sense for the smaller building to be office because of the Tryon address and the hospitality/condo to have a college address. Just a thought, again.
  7. I will speculate and say that the hotel and condo elements would be in the same building. The smaller building should be all spec office and the two floors evident on this rendering would be street-level retail. Just a guess of course.
  8. The ad deadline to submit or cancel for Vincent Publishing was March 28, 2008. Dougie's Eric Trump comments were prior to that I believe.
  9. I notice there is no reference to the skyline in this rendering. One might interpret this as them not really being sure where they would build this "little" masterpiece.
  10. I know nothing other than the fact that I saw this on the tournament website... Guess everyone will just have to wait and see, including me...
  11. Just looked at the domain records and it was just transferred to Trump from James Poag at Infinity on Thursday of last week.
  12. This program will not be in print until in the morning. I am sure there will be something up by then.
  13. I think it is appropriate at this point for everyone to take a look at the Wachovia Championship Official Program page 89. You can view it online at the tournament website. Anyone want to guess about the architect?
  14. According to some inside sources with friends of Infinity, this week will be a major milestone for the Trump Charlotte project. Let's all keep our fingers crossed!
  15. Trump is developing this project. His licensing fee is also about 10X what you speculated.
  16. You are a wise man Dubone. Silence is golden in most cases, especially this one, as I am sure that TTO will want to announce in true TRUMP fashion when they are ready. My friend at Infinity tells me that not a day goes by that either Mr. Poag or Mr. Campbell are on the phone with New York preparing for the closing and continuing work on the master schedule. I would guess that sometime in October would be a good timeframe for some news.
  17. Trust me when I say that the Query Spivey building is insignificant to this project.
  18. Did you read a different article than I did? They pulled out of the Query Spivey Building deal due to the cost associated with the acquisition and the use of the land not having enough merit to justify it. This was an insignificant portion of the total project plan to begin with.
  19. It would have been 3.567 to be exact. The parcel is just under 22,000 square feet + that little bit of ancillary parking. And it has no bearing on the project other than the fact that it will be in Trump's shadow now.
  20. I cannot imagine Crescent Resources allowing them to bank land beyond 24 months and I am sure the contract is written in this manner. They usually are.
  21. I would ask the same thing. I know all of the players in the Trump deal and not one of them has indictaed to me that trouble looms. They are tight lipped, but grin everytime the topic comes up. I also know the Infinity guys were in New York on Wednesday, so unless they were on Wall Street raising capital, I would assume they were meeting with TTO about Trump Charlotte.
  22. In order that things are report correctly, I will take a stab at metropoitan's questions... First of all, metro_M, I agree with your logic about the marketplace right now. The only thing I will say about the stock market affect on the economy is that this type of swing usually is in the favor of someone shopping for a mortgage, so borrowing, albeit somewhat responsible for the swing, will become easier for some. Metropolitan - The additional parcels are the Query Spivey Building (James, McElroy and Diehl Law Firm) 22K+ square feet of dirt and the Faison building, @ 11K+ square feet of dirt. As you know, an acre is 42,560 square feet of dirt. So, if the entire city block is 3.6 acres, this represents about 20% or so of the total land for the project. The other (Central Parking and Goodyear = Crescent) is equivalent to 2.9 acres or 124K square feet of surface area. The big thing here is that a project of this magnitude should really encompass the entire city block and should not have old, delapidated, asbestos-ridden assets in its shadow. HOWEVER, since this portion of the city block was slated for green space and public space for the project (based on the current building config), it is not worth it to pay a premium for dirt that will not be generating any revenue. This project will happen. It may not be as originally planned (GRANDIOS AND OFF THE CHART), but it will be like no other project Charlotte has ever seen. Stay tuned...
  23. This will be my last post for a while... People! The project will not scale down in size due to the aforementioned posts. There are still two buildings, one is planned at 74 and the other is planned at 44. As I have mentioned in previous posts, the 1000 + ft building is the hotel and condos, NOT THE OFFICE as some have speculated and the crappy reporting of the local rags has indicated.
  24. I just have heard that the first renderings presented by the winning architect DO NOT include the additional parcels.
