  1. Regarding Trump. I hope it's not drastically downsized as 930 Poydras seems to be. On the Trump Tower web site it looks like there's about 29 condotel units per floor. If they reduced the units from 435 to 200 it would represent about 8 floors. Maybe they'll increase the condos so the height is not affected.
  2. Is Tina Mowe the daughter of the Trump project developer Cliff Mowe?
  3. There's to be 290 condo units and 435 condotel units in the Trump building according to this article, of which half are to be sold prior to construction. If the 180 commitments are for condos that's well over half, if not, they've got a way to go. We need some clarification. Regardless, it looks like it's going to happen in the not too distant future. link
  4. I'm not convinced this can be the final rendering for 930 Poydras. It looks like the right location but it just doesn't look right. It doesn't look 24 floors high for one thing and the site the rendering comes from doesn't specifically say what it is. Good news about the groundbreaking for the mall on I-12.
  5. How did the initial description of the the proposed building at 930 Poydras evolve into the clunker pictured in the rendering. Very disappointing. That location merits a much more impressive building. Here's how it was first introduced. Although renderings were not released, the project calls for 37 stories, the first eight floors of which will be devoted to 509 parking spaces. A narrower tower would rise from the ninth floor, the roof of which will hold a large pool. Townhouses will cover the broader garage roof. The 10th floor and 11th floors of the tower are actually a glass-enclosed tenant lounge with some apartments beginning on the 11th floor. The 10th floor also would have two-story townhouses along the riverside edge. Beginning at the 11th floor, 27 stories would be built containing nine apartments each. A 38th floor is a roof-party lounge for tenants
  6. There must be some renderings available if they've started building the thing but I can't find em. Any ideas?
  7. 900 mil Summit Fremaux to start construction in Slidell in early May.
  8. Any idea what hotel they're talking about?
  9. The final phase of the 210 mil improvement to the Superdome is to include four 18' x 24' windows.
  10. Conceptual description of what must be the ITM building redevelopement. 900 room hotel and cruise ship terminal
  11. I thought Jindal was supporting the new LSU/VA hospitals for New Orleans when he was running for governor. I would think they will eventually get built here. FYI - They were moving some heavy equipment in at Royal and Canal yesterday. Perhaps they're starting construction on the Royal Cosmopolitan.
  12. Four lanes on Tulane with a landscaped neutral ground would be a great improvement. It's such a sea of concrete now with no u-turns allowed for blocks and blocks. Coming in to town via Tulane would be a great alternative with new construction on either side and the skyline looming in the distance.
  13. Planned investment for Tulane Avenue exceeds 3.5 billion. It'll be exiting to see this corridor transformed.
  14. I couldn't find a link but there's a piece in the Money Section in today's T-P about applications being made for tax-exempt bonds for; high rise apartments at 930 Poydras Robert's grocery on Canal at Carrollton and Carrollton Shopping Center on South Carrollton All of these are notable, especially the first two, in my opinion. Robert's is long overdue for rebuilding. It's the biggest eye sore right on the corner of the Canal and Carrollton street car lines with the likes of Mandina's and Venezia's restaurants nicely restored in the immediate neighborhood. A fresh new up-scale grocery there will be great.
  15. There's a couple of posts on this forum from Feb. 27th about the Tulane Ave. project(s).
  16. Office occupancy rates in the CBD are at 91%. This is great news. Maybe time for some new office high-rises? link
  17. What is it? "www.folc-neworleans.org" does not work
  18. Plan to develop a 3 mile corridor from Armstrong Park to City Park. Sounds great, however, I couldn't access the website for a visual plan.
  19. What is this Gibbs Construction project on Tulane? There's another one just off Tulane and Carrolton. They're large projects with banners around them proclaiming "The Rebuilding of Tulane Avenue, Live, Work, Play, Shop". I couldn't find any information on Gibbs' web site. There appears to be a lot going on on Tulane with the Cancer Research Center going up on Tulane and South Claiborne and the rebuilding of Judicial Complex at Tulane and Broad, and others. This was a very drab, run down thoroughfare in dire need of improvements.
  20. Among other projects, state grants preliminary approval for 60 million in bonds for 37 story high rise at 930 Poydras. Hopefully, there will be lots of activity in the CBD this year.
  21. Here it is again. 930 Poydras Maybe this project will materialize after all. I always suspected this building would be quite handsome.
  22. Glad you noticed Blackcoat. I have often wondered what happened to the 37 story building proposed for 930 Poydras. I would love to see this going up just down and across the street from Trump.
  23. Where'd this come from? Apparently this is not another vapid proposal but will break ground in early May. 900 million developement in Slidell. The cost of this is Trump times two. Can't wait to see the renderings.
  24. 340' condominium and hotel tower. bidclerk. Pretty vague.
