  1. I think the city planners and/or Sam's met with the drive-in while plans were being reviewed to make sure that the parking lot lights at Sam's wouldn't create light pollution that was detrimental to the drive-in. I hope they are right. I like having the drive-in in Fayetteville. It
  2. The original is in Flippin AR, about 2 hrs east on 412, in a train depot. I've never eaten there or heard anything about it but it is one of just a few restaurants in a small town. If you ever choose to stop for dinner in Flippin eat at the "Front Porch Restaurant
  3. If the deal goes through on the Old PO... the Chamber of Commerce intends to use the front area of the north entrance as a visitor
  4. Does anyone know about the "Summit" development going in SE of College Ave on Township behind Bill & Tony's Liquor? I hate to see that forest cut down. Did anyone see all the red dirt that washed down into College Ave after last week's big downpour?
  5. The Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce is still seriously considering purchasing the Old Post Office. (There are so many organizations in downtown that it's tough to keep identify which is which.)
  6. The sound ordinance in Fayetteville was reviewed a few years ago and it has an 11pm cut off for outdoor music. Ever wonder why Powerhouse's Party on the Patio didn't play later than 11pm? Interestingly enough I live near Mission & Maple and I can hear some outdoor bands almost clearly enough to decipher the words. The hills and acoustics are very strange in downtown Fayetteville. If you walk three houses up from my house you can't hear a thing. The first time I heard it it was so loud and clear I went to find out what neighbor's band was practicing at 10pm. I'm not disturbed by the occasional noise and I know if it's really loud it will end at 11pm. (I think it's usually a frat house party rather than a bar. But I've never been able to pinpoint the source.) The most vocal complainants about music on/around the entertainment district have lived there for decades and the UA and Dickson Street have expanded to "encroach" upon what they feel is their neighborhood. In general yes... if a person chooses to live in an urban setting they have to accept a certain level of noise, light pollution, and traffic.
  7. Opps... missed a page... I'm probably #33 or #34.
  8. #30 Thia ...if Scary Redneck was #29
